Disliked: Night security not on site was left outside with my partner trying to phone them about a hour later the scurity arrived at the hotel but by that time I hade enough night scurity is meet to be in the building I would like my money back if possible

Liked: Clean bedding.
Disliked: Run down, tv didn’t work, unsecured lock on shared bathroom. No reception manned for checking in, never answer phone or messages before arrival. Very noisy throughout the night.

Liked: The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable and the sheets and bedding felt new. I was in a very warm and quiet en suite room. The staff were very friendly too. I travelled as a solo female and felt very safe in a new environment. The on site pub was really welcoming and the separate Italian restaurant was delicious, and as a guest I received a 20% discount. They supply the pub grub too - the haggis pakoras were delicious!
Disliked: The shower was hot and cold in 30 second cycles, and there was no loo roll in the room when I arrived. The blind went down but I had to get on a chair to pull it back up.

Liked: Cheap hotel
Disliked: Shared toilet had a light fitting hanging from the ceiling. The place it fell from had rainwater coming through. The ensuite bathroom we had had mold on the ceiling and the shower didn't work properly. There was also a smell of drains and no extract fan in ensuite.

Beautiful historic base for exploring...

Liked: A good base a small ways out of Edinburgh, in a beautiful historic pub. Fully worth the money saved if you're willing to commute into the city.
Disliked: Due to some local incidents, outside doors would be locked after a certain time and staff had to be informed if we were likely to be returning late or else we would be locked out until morning
