Liked: Super clean, very friendly and helpful staff. I didn?t feel like I had any Covid risks. The hotel is absolutely stunning and a marble/stylistic relic of early San Diego history. They don?t make building like this now. Loved all the SD historical pictures around the hotel. They were fun to look at. My room was peaceful/quiet as far as other patrons went. Of course there was some random noise from downtowners outside, but it wasn?t excessive by any means and it wasn?t bothersome at all. Parking isn?t onsite... it?s a block away and is $30 overnight with free access to go in and out of the garage. I felt safe as a single woman walking back and forth. If there?s a homeless person around, simply smile and acknowledge them as you would do other beautiful humans. Fifteen minute loading zones in front of the hotel made luggage handling and offsite parking very manageable. My only wish for an ultimately perfect stay would definitely be to upgrade the bathroom lighting, which was quite dim. No woman who wears make up would have chosen that lighting. ;) I actually didn?t wear makeup this trip so it didn?t bother me. If I did, I would definitely have wished to have a mirror in front of a window or better bathroom lighting. I had a corner junior suite on the second floor (front and west side of the hotel). Perhaps bathrooms in other rooms have better lighting. Just a thought to share if that?s important to someone. I would highly recommend staying here over another upscale hotel if you value history and beautiful boutique hotels.
Disliked: Bathroom lighting was way too dim.
