was great to have seperate bedroom and living space. toilet plumbing very bad in room 107, so had to move although staff where helpful. gym very small but ok, pool and steam/sauna rooms nice. food was average, staff helpful, grounds and location very good.

Liked: We got an upgrade to a suite and the food was exceptionally good. Staff were excellent.
Disliked: We had an issue with the boiler making noise at 3am but it was sorted very quickly when we alerted the night porter.

Friendly hotel in a wonderful...

Liked: Size and comfort of room, Great friendly staff, Quality of food both at Dinner & Breakfast was superb. Normally we would stay at one of national chains that Sir Lenny Henry advertises (PI) but this is definitely worth the little extra £. Restaurant is good value for money for the quality and quantity of food received along with superb service. ***No service charges or table charges which is a pleasant surprise nowadays*** enable us to choose to leave a good tip which we did.
Disliked: This was a last minute trip to family over the easter weekend to visit family room availability was only showing for 1 night out of the 3 nights required on booking.com. Next time we will plan a little better or contact hotel directly. One minor area that could be improved is to switch the outside lighting "on" at the reception entrance steps a little earlier. Dark steps = potential accidents.

It was great for what...

Liked: The Sunday lunch was excellent. However room service wasn't open late enough.
Disliked: The gym/pool facilities looked a bit tired, but I had it to myself - so that was worth it!
