Pleasant stay and Anne, the...

Liked: Great location: short walk to downtown, restaurants, lakefront and the theaters. Nice home.Room was large and comfortable. Bed and bedding were comfortable. Bathroom is small and tub/shower would challenge plus-size individuals, but the plumbing worked well and there was good shower head flow. Keuring in the room with small refrigerator with water and creamers. There were plenty of open electrical outlets to plug in laptop, phone chargers, etc. Very good tasting local water. Innkeeper, Anne, was a real sweetheart and trying to do a good job. Since we were the only guest, we had a hot breakfast 2/3 of our 3-night stay, whereas a continental breakfast is the norm. Room and front door have combo locks so there are no keys to keep track of.
Disliked: Room can be set up as two single beds or a king size bed. We had the king size set-up, but the headboards were not well-attached to the beds. Had to use pillows to keep the headboards from banging when we moved. Come on folks, NOTL is a ROMANTIC get-away! ; )I'm tall and noted that high spots (globes on bathroom lights, high surfaces, etc. were dusty. Easy fix. Just dust EVERYTHING!Followed TV instructions and got channel selection to come on but there were no active TV channels. Good think we aren't TV watchers when we travel. NO FRESH COFFEE IN MORNING except for Kehrig. May or may not be creamers available throughout day and night. No real common area for guests. Breakfast room has hard chairs and no reading chairs. There are a couple of reading chairs in the hallway but no light source. The breakfast room was set up for Christmas so, perhaps, there is a different arrangement most of the time. Bottom-line: good thing that our room (Bernard Shaw Room) was large and comfortable because there was nowhere else, comfortable, for us to enjoy in the house.

Quite, clean, convenient to theatres.

Liked: It was a good continental breakfast.
Disliked: The staff member who managed breakfast on the second day told us climate change was caused by wind turbines. We didn't stay for breakfast.

Pleasant

Liked: Great location. Very clean. Lovely staff.
Disliked: This review is for the Shakespeare room, the other rooms are very different. The description does say that the bathroom facilities are not off the bedroom, what is not stated is that to access the bathroom you go through a common area (note: the closet is also accessible via the common area). The room is quite small which is fine for an overnight stay but we were on a three week adventure so we had more than overnight bags. To hang up any garments you had to use the closet outside of the room. We did adjust but it was a little disconcerting at the start.
