Originally built as a farmhouse in 1672 the Fieldhead is located on the edge of Charnwood Forest just 7 miles from Leicester and 1 mile from Junction 22 of the M1. Built from local stone this charming traditional inn was a working farm until the 1980s. Now it has a cozy restaurant a bar and a terrace for guests to enjoy. The seasonal menus offer a wide selection of modern and traditional British favorites from hearty main courses to lighter snacks. A selection of real ales carefully selected wines and special teas and coffees are also available. The hotel offers 28 comfortable rooms with attached bathroom each of which is individually decorated with its own unique charm. Guests can make use of free Wi-Fi in the hotel rooms and in public areas of the building. The National Space Center Donnington Park and Museum and East Midlands Airport are all within a 20-minute drive of the hotel.

Great stop over would recommend.

Liked: Relaxed atmosphere with helpful staff.Room was very comfortable with massive double bed.Good breakfast.
Disliked: Dinner was good, except the Sea Bass was burnt.

Horrendous hotel - dirty ,...

Liked: There was parking on site
Disliked: Dirty everywhere- handles grimy bedroom was dusty and they obviously don't clean the room as there was a dirty sock on the floor!!!!Food ridiculously overpriced and quality very low. I chose prawn and avocado starter and the avocado was brown! I tried for main with a salad and the leaves were brown and wilted IT is a terrible hotel and experience was so horrendous that I left on my second evening even though I had paid for 2 nights and drove 180 miles home arriving home safely at 11pm rather than spend another night

Liked: Second stay here will be booking again next Good size room very clean great staff couldn't do enough for us
