Great vlue and comfortable

Passable
Liked: the staff were wonderful, and the hotel is in 5th Avenue was super great we could walk and explore New York
Disliked: The lift wasn’t working, the window had no view the price should have been reduced the staff were wonderful, we had to wait for the lift by the time we made it to the breakfast they was nothing left and they started clearing breakfast 15mins yet they knew the lift wasn’t working it takes guest 15mins to walk done from 14th floor

Fine for a short stay...
Liked: The location was excellent. Breakfast was very good. Cookies were a nice treat. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Disliked: Our room was very small. There was not a drawer or even a proper closet, and no place to put the offered luggage rack or refrigerator. And the mattress was well used.

Disappointing
Liked: The staff were very kind and knowledgeable. The property is in a great location
Disliked: The room was gross - broken counters (in sink), stained sheets - really needs renovation. Bathroom has no counter space and the crappy repairs make it impossible to use the tiny space that was there.

Nice place, good value, great...
Liked: Great location, great staff super responsive and helpful, and it was reasonably priced. The hotel was clean and the breakfast was a solid value but the eating area was always completely full.
Disliked: Our door requires you to slam it to get it to lock, the bed was sub par and old (creaky) the toilet would run on occasion throughout the day

Great location, check if curtain...
Liked: Location is superb, can't fault it. Breakfast was very good, eggs, fresh waffles, coffee and yoghurt. All day coffee and tea available too. Room was big enough but very dark on the 3rd floor facing the back, so be careful.
Disliked: Electric curtains didn't work for the first three days. We requested it to be fixed and was forgotten the first time. We then requested it again but took a long time to fix, seems a faulty battery or something. Someone had to come in with a ladder and took the whole curtain down to fix it and it was really a little intrusive as it took quite a while with workmen coming in and out of our room. The air-con was extremely noisy, my phone recorded 50 decibels in bed while the aircon was on. There is no way one can sleep with the aircon on. Thankfully it wasn't summer.

Shocked that Marriott have their...
Liked: Smooth, friendly, welcoming check-in.Large bed.Location.
Disliked: Check-in was great...all downhill from there unfortunately (our room window opened onto the very close neighbouring fire escape, so no natural light at all for the duration). The (tiny) room was/is tired and requires some upkeep - broken cupboard bits, bathroom door sticks to floor, entry door doesn't close without some serious shoving, shelf in bathroom is unusable since it is broken and therefore slants, rubbish in the basin drain - I have no words... By day 3 we turned the AC off at night to try to get some sleep. Whilst the bed is big, the pillows were annoyingly small and I'm dealing with a neck thing now. Housekeeping....never quite got there completely (can expand on this if necessary) and totally absent on the public holiday when we were there (we received a note delivered under door the night before the holiday alerting us to no service). Breakfast was disappointing and we simply skipped it mostly. On two occasions I asked reception for a taxi but was directed to just find one on the close-by avenues (the second time I actually asked for the telephone number for taxi so that I could call myself and wasn't even given that either).It's not often I'm apologising to my husband for making such a poor choice of hotel, but here we are.
