Exactly what I hoped for...

Liked: Free upgrade to private bathroom.Excellent location, open area, felt very safe compared to other similar hotel locations around Union Square
Disliked: TV "system" was very annoying

Liked: The location is pretty good. It's right next to Chinatown and you have a bunch of Bars, Restaurants and gentleman's club there. The hotel price is fairly cheap but I mean you get what you pay for.
Disliked: The front desk staff could've been a little bit more friendly and welcoming especially when you arrive at the hotel and you're exhausted from your trip and you want to check in and the only thing the staff can barley say is hello, doesn't give you a good feeling to begin with.One morning we had no hot water in the shower.The bed was uncomfortable as heck, my back still hurts when I think k about it and you can here steps from. The stairs above you and when your neighbors are too loud you hear that as well. I don't expect much for a hotel with a good price but like some things should be standard even tho it's cheap.

Great value in the heart...

Liked: This is one of the best budget hotels I've stayed in. They upgraded me at check-in. The staff was really nice. It's an older hotel but the room is upgraded. It's totally clean, the bed is super-comfortable. There's a 40 inch flat screen with all the Dish channels, microwave and fridge. The location is perfect. It's right in the heart of North Beach. There's a great pizzeria and a taqueria next door as well as the famous "The Saloon". The value is tremendous!
Disliked: There's nothing I don't like. It's a budget hotel and it's a great value. I'll stay a while.
