Historic charm and pampering

Liked: This is a darling boutique hotel so close to everything. Is perfect as a place to center your explorations from and to spend the day by the pool. The breakfast and afternoon snack were excellent. The presentation and pride in everything at the cottages was beautiful. I enjoyed every second and will be back.
Disliked: Nothing

Lovely, tropical grounds. Perfect area...

Liked: The bed was very comfortable. AC and ceiling fan awesome. Really enjoyed the breakfast bar and the coffee was outstanding. Usually very weak but not here.
Disliked: The room and the bathroom were too small. There was very limited space for our one suitcase.

The location of Ella’s Cottages...

Liked: The coffee was very good which was much appreciated. The selection of pastries offered however was disappointing and never changed during the 4 days we stayed. The pastries were “grocery store” quality and certainly not Kimpton hotel quality. The boxed cereal choices were odd and for children (even though there were no children, as far as we could determine). The cut fresh fruit and fresh juices were very nice. There was only one flavor of yogurt every morning.One of the things that we did like was the housekeeping staff—even though they came very late to clean our room (usually after 4:00 PM), they were very pleasant and did an excellent job in cleaning and maintaining the housekeeping standards.
Disliked: By far, the least appealing aspect of Ella’s Cottages was the bathroom. Unfortunately, this is probably the one area that would be difficult for management to make changes in because of the space limitations. The bathroom in our room (#15), was simply too small to be comfortable. There was no counter space to put anything. There is no space to put a towel when getting out of a shower. The shower itself is very small with no additional shelving.

Exceptional

Liked: The staff was amazing and exceeded our expectations! They were able to accommodate every request we made! The highlight of our trip!

Liked: The location was perfect for our needs and the cottages were perfect with their porches and patios.
Disliked: We were supposed to have complementary amenities, but in fact you are charged the resort fees at $37+tax per day for this and several of the amenities were not offered to us. Plenty of roosters and if you are a light sleeper you will hear them!

Liked: The location to Duval st.
Disliked: Yes, the busy street noises outside of our room, the intrusive roosters, the horrible pillows. You advertise free parking, yet I was charged for lot parking. Will not come back here.
