The Edward Hotel

Quirky and comfortable

Liked: I love the quirky nature of this hotel, with all the pictures of famous 'Edwards' and each room named after an Edward. The staff were really friendly and down-to-earth. The room was very clean and comfortable with everything you needed. The breakfast was good and location very convenient for central Gloucester.
Disliked: Nothing from my perspective. If you are not good with stairs, then I advise you contact the hotel to request a room on the ground floor as my room had quite a few steps to go up and down.

Very good

Liked: Excellent in-room facilities, clean, free parking a definite bonus. Walking distance to city centre which was great for us. Good breakfast, and it's nice to have the choice of paying for a full English or have a lighter option for less. Host was professional, checking in and out was very easy. Shops, garages, a pub and takeaways all within a few minutes walk.
Disliked: En-suites in both rooms were very small and shower difficult to use - temperature varied from burning hot to ice cold. The surrounding area is not great, very run down on the walk into the city centre with lots of closed shops and homelessness. Our teenagers felt uneasy and a little scared.

Exceptional

Comfortable and convenient for a...

Liked: Single rooms with en suites as we were 4 middle aged friends who didn’t want to share. Good breakfast. All rooms clean and well equipped. And the added bonus of free parking while we walked into and looked round the city for the day. Really kind helpful staff who recommended a lovely restaurant on the evening we arrived and gave us a map for sight seeing.
Disliked: Nothing

Liked: Very welcoming host, large room and bed, good shower. Microwave & fridge in the room a bonus. Parking good.

Great hotel

Liked: Spotlessly clean, very comfortable beds and a lovely breakfast. Location is perfect if going to watch rugby or visit Gloucester Quays but also to visit nearby Cheltenham and Stroud. All staff welcoming and friendly.
