Great pub, just needs a...

Liked: The pub meals are delicious and well worth the money. The atmosphere in the pub was great. It’s not far from A1 as travelling back from northern Scotland and needed somewhere to stay overnight to break up the journey.
Disliked: The service was very slow, in taking your order and then took a while again to get something you asked for. We were going to have a dessert but didn’t see any staff to take order. Husband walked about trying to find someone but couldn’t so we didn’t bother. Bed springs hurt my back and didn’t get a good nights sleep. But it didn’t put us off to come back and try again.

Liked: I loved the hotel it was old but lots of character the meals were lovely and the staff were really nice . I would definitely stay here again.

Lovely setting but unclean. Caution...

Liked: Great location and very popular as a pub and restaurant. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Disliked: Bathroom was filthy, room was dusty and the carpet smelt. We opened the window for the smell but only disturbed more dust and dirt. I did take photographs, probably best I don't post them for those with a fragile disposition
