The Spotlight on DoubleTree by Hilton New York Downtown

Stay Close to the Action in Lower Manhattan

Modern comfort meets downtown convenience at the DoubleTree by Hilton New York Downtown. Located just steps from Battery Park, this stylish hotel places you right in the heart of NYC’s vibrant Financial District. With sleek rooms, a welcoming vibe, and major subway lines a short walk away, it’s a great home base for exploring the city—and catching your favorite artists live.

Each room features a 49-inch flat-screen TV with premium channels, coffee and tea facilities, and a private bathroom with thoughtful touches like a hairdryer and in-room safe. The hotel also offers a 24-hour front desk, complimentary fitness and business centers, and an on-site restaurant and bar for easy dining.

Why Concert-goers love it

If you're heading to a show at Madison Square Garden, Barclays Center, or any of the many iconic downtown venues, the DoubleTree by Hilton New York Downtown is a smart pick. Just a quick subway ride from most major arenas, and only 591 feet from the Whitehall Street subway station, it’s easy to get around—even after the encore. The lower Manhattan location is also quieter at night, perfect for winding down after a high-energy concert. Flexible check-in at 4:00 PM and check-out at 11:00 AM gives you time to settle in and sleep off the late-night buzz.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking to explore NYC’s music scene together
  • Solo travelers catching a dream concert
  • Couples making a weekend of it with shows and sightseeing
  • Fans who want a peaceful spot to recover post-show
  • Budget-conscious music lovers seeking comfort without the Midtown prices

Food and Drink Options

Hungry after a show? The on-site Antica Ristorante serves up Italian classics and stays open late. There’s also a cozy bar inside where you can grab a nightcap. While there’s no 24/7 room service, the neighborhood has plenty of walkable eateries and late-night bites. Morning after a concert? Fuel up with breakfast at the hotel or nearby cafés.

Nightlife Options

While the hotel itself offers a relaxed vibe, you're just a short ride from NYC’s top nightlife. Whether you're into dive bars, rooftop lounges, or low-key wine spots, the downtown location gives you quick access to it all. The hotel's own bar is perfect for a pre-show drink or a quiet nightcap with friends.

What People Say

Guests love the friendly staff, clean and quiet rooms, and the location’s ease of access to both tourist attractions and music venues. Many mention the proximity to the subway and the value for money compared to Midtown options. The warm cookies at check-in don’t hurt either.

Areas for Improvement

Wi-Fi is not included for free unless you’re a Hilton Honors member. Some rooms are compact, which is typical for NYC, and the elevators can be a bit slow during busy times. But for most concert-goers, these are minor trade-offs for the location and price.

The Bottom Line

If you want a stylish, well-located, and comfortable base for your NYC concert adventure, DoubleTree by Hilton New York Downtown hits all the right notes.

Loney, Maplewood, visiting Sunset Terrace at Chelsea Piers

I would come back again but book a bigger room.

Liked: Clean room and very comfortable bed.
Disliked: Room is very small; no room for an additional chair beyond the desk chair.

Very recommended

Liked: Hotel staff is great, the rooms are fairly big and have everything you need. In my case, it was very reasonably priced (for Manhattan)
Disliked: The only bad thing is there are just 3 elevators for over 50 floors. You tend to wait a lot to get into the elevator and go through your ride.

A comfortable stay overall, though...

Liked: The room was comfortable and the beds were cozy. The location was central, making it easy to reach nearby attractions. We appreciated the cleanliness and layout of the rooms. The staff at reception were helpful and check-in was smooth.
Disliked: Noise from the corridor was clearly audible inside the room, which was disturbing. The number of elevators was insufficient, leading to long wait times. Also, the check-in time was quite late, which made it hard to settle in after a long journey.

Great!

Liked: The location and the staff was amazing! Very helpful, kind and pleasant. We enjoyed our room. It was comfortable and clean.
Disliked: The elevator takes forever. Being on the 32nd floor we weren’t able to take the stairs and spent quite a bit of time waiting for the elevator.

Pleasant

Liked: Location of the hotel. Provides tea and coffee in the room.
Disliked: No water served - charge $3 for a small bottle.Waiting time for elevator very long and annoying. I'm surprised to see varuation in quality of services across Doubletree in Leominster, Biston downtown, and NYC downtown. Boston downtown was the best. Leominster lacks service - dusty carpet, flakes flying from bed, and comforter! NYC downtown doesn't is cramped and provides very basic.

Overall the stay was ok...

Liked: I liked the fact that it was close to specific locations we wanted to visit, the room was clean and the bed comfortable and it wasn’t noisy from the outside. Also when i wanted to ask a question through the app they would always reply fast they even allowed us a half an hour early check in since our room was ready. Last i really liked the staff at the baggage drop off and pick up he was kind and very helpful both times we talked
Disliked: For a four star hotel there are a lot of things i want to say. First the elevators took so long to come pick us we were waiting for minimum 7 minutes and they were three of them! One of them was even broken one of the nights we stayed. The second thing is that for a four star hotel we were not expecting the reception to be on the second floor so again we had to take the elevators to go up (and wait for more time). Third is that they provide you with a small 24/7 shop on the second floor however it was so expensive for the things it had, it was not worth it. Lastly for a four star hotel i was expecting an air-condition system that would be working for the whole night but also to be silent! The one we had was quite loud for sleeping and i had to wake up in the middle of the night because it was shutting off on its own and we were hot.
