The Spotlight on DoubleTree by Hilton New York Downtown

Stay Close to the Action in Lower Manhattan

Modern comfort meets downtown convenience at the DoubleTree by Hilton New York Downtown. Located just steps from Battery Park, this stylish hotel places you right in the heart of NYC’s vibrant Financial District. With sleek rooms, a welcoming vibe, and major subway lines a short walk away, it’s a great home base for exploring the city—and catching your favorite artists live.

Each room features a 49-inch flat-screen TV with premium channels, coffee and tea facilities, and a private bathroom with thoughtful touches like a hairdryer and in-room safe. The hotel also offers a 24-hour front desk, complimentary fitness and business centers, and an on-site restaurant and bar for easy dining.

Why Concert-goers love it

If you're heading to a show at Madison Square Garden, Barclays Center, or any of the many iconic downtown venues, the DoubleTree by Hilton New York Downtown is a smart pick. Just a quick subway ride from most major arenas, and only 591 feet from the Whitehall Street subway station, it’s easy to get around—even after the encore. The lower Manhattan location is also quieter at night, perfect for winding down after a high-energy concert. Flexible check-in at 4:00 PM and check-out at 11:00 AM gives you time to settle in and sleep off the late-night buzz.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking to explore NYC’s music scene together
  • Solo travelers catching a dream concert
  • Couples making a weekend of it with shows and sightseeing
  • Fans who want a peaceful spot to recover post-show
  • Budget-conscious music lovers seeking comfort without the Midtown prices

Food and Drink Options

Hungry after a show? The on-site Antica Ristorante serves up Italian classics and stays open late. There’s also a cozy bar inside where you can grab a nightcap. While there’s no 24/7 room service, the neighborhood has plenty of walkable eateries and late-night bites. Morning after a concert? Fuel up with breakfast at the hotel or nearby cafés.

Nightlife Options

While the hotel itself offers a relaxed vibe, you're just a short ride from NYC’s top nightlife. Whether you're into dive bars, rooftop lounges, or low-key wine spots, the downtown location gives you quick access to it all. The hotel's own bar is perfect for a pre-show drink or a quiet nightcap with friends.

What People Say

Guests love the friendly staff, clean and quiet rooms, and the location’s ease of access to both tourist attractions and music venues. Many mention the proximity to the subway and the value for money compared to Midtown options. The warm cookies at check-in don’t hurt either.

Areas for Improvement

Wi-Fi is not included for free unless you’re a Hilton Honors member. Some rooms are compact, which is typical for NYC, and the elevators can be a bit slow during busy times. But for most concert-goers, these are minor trade-offs for the location and price.

The Bottom Line

If you want a stylish, well-located, and comfortable base for your NYC concert adventure, DoubleTree by Hilton New York Downtown hits all the right notes.

I would come back again but book a bigger room.

Liked: Clean room and very comfortable bed.
Disliked: Room is very small; no room for an additional chair beyond the desk chair.

What I needed, when I...

Liked: Location was excellent, plenty of good coffee, bagel, fast food, and fine dining options all nearby.
Disliked: The wait for the elevators was always far too long. Not sure what they can do to fix it, though.

NEW YORK BABY!

Liked: Awesome location if you want to go to bed early, have a quiet night sleep, and get up early to explore the city. Small but decent gym. (Its far away from the busiest area, Times Square, 34th and 5th ) Right by battery park, and you have a Starbucks, chipotle, burger king and duane reed within a 100 meters from the hotel.

Not great access to rooms

Liked: Location
Disliked: To go to your room after you check in, you have to wait sometimes 30 min for the lift, or to get out from your room, is possible to wait more. In our case we had 2 kids and 3 suitcases we were waiting 30 min to be able to get out of the hotel. To check in you have to go to level 2 so is more waiting time for the lift.
