The Spotlight on DoubleTree By Hilton Los Angeles Downtown

Comfort Meets Convenience in the Heart of Downtown LA

Modern and welcoming, the DoubleTree By Hilton Los Angeles Downtown places you right in the action of downtown LA. A short drive from Nokia Theatre LA LIVE and within walking distance of the Financial District, this hotel blends city energy with relaxing comforts. Expect sleek rooms with flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, and even whirlpool tubs in some upgraded options. Plus, you're greeted with that signature warm chocolate chip cookie at check-in—a sweet start to your concert weekend.

Why Concert-goers love it

The hotel's central location makes it a solid choice for music fans heading to downtown venues. It’s just a 10-minute drive to LA LIVE and other major concert halls. After the show, return to a peaceful rooftop garden with sweeping city views—perfect for a quiet wind-down. The 24-hour fitness center and business amenities also make late arrivals or working trips easier. While check-in starts at 4:00 PM and check-out is at 11:00 AM, the concierge desk is helpful for storing bags if your concert timing doesn’t line up.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for a central base
  • Solo travelers catching a dream concert
  • Couples planning a romantic music-filled weekend
  • Fans needing a quiet space to unwind post-show
  • Budget-conscious travelers sharing a room

Food and Drink Options

Justice Urban Tavern, the on-site restaurant, serves up local California cuisine and craft beer—ideal for a pre-show dinner. For something lighter, grab drinks and appetizers at the Rendezvous Lounge. While there’s no 24/7 room service, the fridge in your room and nearby eateries help with late-night cravings. Breakfast is available for those who sleep in after a long night out.

Nightlife Options

You’re in the heart of downtown LA, so bars and lounges are abundant just steps away. While the hotel doesn’t host live music nightly, the on-site bar is a great spot to start your night with a craft cocktail before exploring the city’s nightlife.

What People Say

Visitors often highlight the friendly staff, especially the helpful concierge and quick check-in process. The rooftop garden is a favorite for its peaceful vibe and cityscape views. Many guests love the central location, calling it "ideal for catching a show and seeing the city."

Areas for Improvement

Downtown traffic can be a challenge, so allow extra time when heading to your venue. Parking is available but not included, and some guests note the additional cost. While the area is walkable, some reviews mention limited dining options late at night.

The Bottom Line

DoubleTree By Hilton Los Angeles Downtown is a reliable, centrally located hotel that makes concert nights in LA smooth, stylish, and stress-free.

Disappointing - 2.0 out of 5

Mel K, San Diego

Major management involvement needed to compete with good LA hotels. Will not go there again.

Liked: Bed comfort; staff; shuttle.
Disliked: Room size; handicapped aids; menus; lack of real restaurant; value.

Miran S, Los Angeles, visiting Exchange Los Angeles

Although I thought this hotel was beautiful and the staff was friendly, for what I paid I could have gotten much more somewhere else. I thought it was pretty tacky that they charge for overnight parking, it's not like you are going to park for only a few hours. $32 is too much to park when your room is already upwards of $300 for a standard room. Also my pet peeve - one packet of sugar and one creamer might look nice and appointed in the coffee caddy in the room, but not very realistic. Also, if you are sharing a room with someone, make sure to bring your own toiletries, because there will not be enough shampoo for 2 people. But then again, aesthetics are an important part of the illusion of luxury. The rooftop garden was beautiful and peaceful. Location was perfect. Overall good experience but a bit pricey for what is offered, but then again that's LA for ya.

Liked: Clean room.
Disliked: Parking.

Nice stay near downtown Los...

Liked: We liked that it had a refrigerator and coffee maker and that it was walking distance to little Tokyo, Union Station, Angels Flight, etc. We were also very grateful that we were able to do early check-in at 1pm. The Japanese Garden is also nice. We also used the parking, even though it was $51/night we were grateful that the car was safe there.
Disliked: There was police, ambulance and helicopter noise at night. I would recommend earplugs if you are a light sleeper.
