Liked: I chose this hotel because of its central location and proximity to the West End district as we were going to a few shows. It certainly lived up to my expectations here, was very easy getting around, and felt like a safe area.The beds were comfortable, wifi was good, and staff were attentive.
Disliked: I would have rated my stay a lot higher, however we could not get past the overwhelming unpleasant smell that lingered the entire stay.We booked a “Superior Queen” room and upon arrival we found we were on floor -1 (underground). Whilst this would have been fine and we did have some natural light even though we were below street level, the smell on floor -1, in our room, and the smell in the corridor with the seperate elevator that lead to floor -1 was pretty revolting. It smelt of old, wet, mouldy laundry that has been left out for a long time. This smell wasn’t present in the lobby, only our room and floor and corridor leading to our elevator. It was very difficult to look past and something I expected better from when booking a Superior Queen room at the DoubleTree Hilton.

Liked: I stayed here with my daughter and we had a wonderful experience. We were upgraded to Diamond guests on arrival, which included a room upgrade, complimentary breakfast, chocolates, and a dessert in the room – such a lovely surprise!The staff were all incredibly friendly and welcoming, from reception to breakfast and housekeeping. The breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice, and our room was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable, with a gorgeous bathroom.The location was excellent, just a short walk from Holborn tube station and right next to Russell Square, making it easy to explore the city.A fantastic stay from start to finish – we’ll definitely be back!
