The Spotlight on DoubleTree by Hilton Edinburgh - Queensferry Crossing

Scenic Comfort Just Outside the Buzz of Edinburgh

Modern and welcoming, the DoubleTree by Hilton Edinburgh - Queensferry Crossing blends peaceful riverside views with easy access to the city’s vibrant music venues. Set on the banks of the Firth of Forth, this hotel offers a relaxed atmosphere with stylish rooms and a contemporary vibe—perfect for winding down after a high-energy gig.

Why Concert-goers love it

Though it sits just outside the city center, concert-goers appreciate the quiet location after a night out. With Inverkeithing Rail Station only 2 miles away, you’re a short ride from top venues in Edinburgh—without the city noise when it's time to crash. The free parking is a bonus for drivers, and the generous 12:00 PM checkout means you can sleep in after a late night.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking to share a stylish space before and after a show
  • Solo travelers chasing a bucket-list gig with a peaceful base
  • Couples turning a concert into a scenic weekend escape
  • Fans seeking quiet and comfort after a loud night
  • Budget-conscious music lovers who want quality without city-center prices

Food and Drink Options

The on-site North Shore Restaurant serves up both international and traditional fare with fresh, local ingredients—ideal for a pre-show dinner or post-gig refuel. While there’s no 24/7 room service, the bar stays open late, and you’ll find tea, coffee, and a mini-fridge in every room. Breakfast is available on-site, perfect for late risers after a night of music.

Nightlife Options

While the immediate area is more serene than buzzing, you’re a quick train or taxi ride from Edinburgh’s live music hotspots and nightlife. If you’re in the mood for something low-key, enjoy a drink at the on-site bar with views of the iconic Forth Rail Bridge.

What People Say

Guests love the stunning views, especially from rooms facing the water. Reviewers often mention the friendly staff, modern amenities, and the peaceful setting as standout features. The free parking and easy access to the city via rail station are also frequently praised by concert-goers.

Areas for Improvement

While it’s not smack in the middle of Edinburgh, the slight commute is worth it if you value quiet nights and picturesque surroundings. A few guests noted that dining options nearby are limited after hours, so it’s best to plan ahead if you're returning late.

The Bottom Line

A scenic, comfortable base with easy city access—DoubleTree by Hilton Edinburgh - Queensferry Crossing is a smart pick for concert-goers who want the best of both worlds: music and a good night’s sleep.

Liked: Good room size ,excellent view ,good food ,excellent staff
Disliked: In what was a premium room there was only one easy chair. The other chair was a desk type and in a premium room I would have expected two easy chairs. On our first night we had to endure several hours of motorcycles racing back and forth on the road below. The hotel did call the police but it could have been done sooner especially for those wanting an early night.Thankfully it did not happen on the next night.

Liked: The room were really nice and spacious. Staff was really welcoming and cleaning staff were patient and nice. the gym had a lot exercising machine and space which was good. The view was enjoyable and the area is perfect if you want to go for a run.
Disliked: Maybe location. It was a bit far from city centre but South Queensferry was a prefect spot to explore different restaurants and pub so not really a downside.

Ups & Downs

Liked: Beautiful room with fantastic views of the estuary and bridgesVery modern and stylish.
Disliked: Food in The Shore not very good. My pasta appeared to be "boil in bag' food and the prawn cocktail was so bad we returned it and we were not charged. Based on this experience we didn't bother booking breakfast
