Good

Smallest room and bed ever.

Disliked: VERY small room and en suite. The old bed was 1.2m wide which was sold as a double room but should be a single, especially in a room of width1.8m.Steep narrow stairs. Whole window obscured by scaffolding.

Superb

Liked: Pretty cozy room that met my needs even though it was on the 4th floor with no lift. But I knew this when I booked and definitely got some much needed exercise climbing the stairs.
Disliked: My only real complaint is that the pillows provided could be bigger and more supportive.

Perfectly located ..

Liked: I'd read negative reviews so was a bit wary. I stayed just for one night. I'd booked an economy single .. I was just going to sleep there not host a party ! I had room 274 .. up a couple of flights of stairs and sort of set on its own. It was small, had a single bed with pristine white linen, towels and a snuggly duvet. A tiny shower room..the toilet had a chain pull I haven't seen one of those for years! and very importantly a kettle! Stayed close by before so aware of train rumblings and packed earplugs .. no problems thereI'd opted for breakfast, I'm not a cooked breakfast person but what i saw a family tucking in to was freshly cooked and looked lovely!! What was on offer otherwise was more than adequate.. I had a big bowl of muesli, Greek yoghurt fruit and honey, egg, cheese and toast, 2 big mugs of coffee and juice... and lots of other choices like cakes and biscuits were available I was happy with this hotel, economy yes .. but with an economy price. Sometimes people want luxury at low price hence all the negativity All the Staff were very helpful and pleasant, check in /out easy . I'd certainly stay again without hesitation x It's perfectly located for Paddington Station xThank you Dolphin x
Disliked: The fridge made a hell of a din, unplugged.. problem solved.I had problems with regulating the shower, it was scalding, I couldn't work out the cold from hot. I tried individually but both poured out hot water. I was wary of using it. I gave it a miss as I was returning home. Also the sink took 10 mins to drain. Old plumbing !! I'd have liked a bedside lamp ..Apart from that .. nothing !!

Liked: My room was on the ground floor with a small white walled courtyard outside A light from an adjacent window was bright and the rooms curtain was not light proof allowing too much light into the room at night.

Disliked: The single basement room was airless, no window and noisy from the underground

Very good

Disliked: You need to pay extra for some sausages & backed beans. Otherwise good breakfast.Limited towels supplies, no towels for face wash, no face cloths.

Okay for 1 night.

Liked: bed was really soft, it was like lying on a cloud.plug socket available. the staff was excellent.
Disliked: the bathroom light didn't work so I showered in the dark. not ideal. also,, the bathroom floor was uneven which was treacherous.I paid for breakfast included which is for the CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST ONLY. if you want the English breakfast, you have to pay and extra £10.however, the biggest issue was a broken plug socket with the FUSE EXPOSED which I only noticed in the morning before leaving. I've attached a picture for evidence.

Convenience, not comfort.

Liked: bathroom was clean, modern and in good order.
Disliked: It was loud, you can hear the plumbing- it sounds like water running down the walls. You can hear/ feel the underground operating below the building. Little soundproofing between rooms, or rooms and hallway. The balcony door felt insecure- with a lot of effort I was able to latch it, but with a good push I think it would have opened right up from the outside. Walls were quite scuffed up, furniture was clearly heavily used including water marked, or bubbled up table surfaces.
