A great place to stay...

Liked: A nice place to stay with very large room, comfortable beds, and amenities such as water, ice machine, coffee, and vending machine.Cozy rooms and walking distance to the Whitehouse.
Disliked: A lot of stairs to get in the front door and then a few more once inside. Not suitable if you have luggage. The wifi didn’t work at all on our room and couldn’t be resolved. It only worked near the reception desk upstairs.

I was a bit nervous...

Liked: Amazing location - easily accessible to main attractions by bus/train nearby, felt safe.Was a lot cleaner than expected, had all the basics, nice bathroom with good shower water, good A/C unit, lots of power sockets including at the bedside tables.
Disliked: Quite noisy early in the morning and late at night - can hear things in the corridor, and the doors do tend to slam shut, can also hear people at the hotel/joint next door.

Needs updating and refreshing

Liked: Close location to the white house and other attractions. Friendly staff.
Disliked: The rooms are very basic and small. Very dated and needs refurbishing.

Liked: I usually try to stay in this area of town during my average once a year trips to DC. I prefer older "cozy" hotels to chains, and this is one of the best - in all ways. I will hope they have availability next time I am in town!
Disliked: Can't think of anything (since the hotel does not control the weather....)

Disliked: Very old. Bedroom extremely small. Like 10X8. The mattress was so old and bumpy that I couldn’t sleep
