Lovely hotel with good connection...

Liked: We made a last-minute reservation and we were pleasantly surprised with how lovely this hotel is and how accessible it was coming from the Lake District. The facilities were wonderful and the hotel staff made us feel very welcome. When we arrived, we were so pleased to discover that we were offerred interconnected rooms to accommodate our big family. This made our stay extra special.
Disliked: The room service menu is a little pricey, but the pizza was delicious!

My night in the Marriott,...

Liked: The setting was lovely, close to where we needed to be. Nightmare reception was very nice
Disliked: I am allergic to feathers, Given a couple of rooms that had feather pillows/mattress protectors/quilts. Had to move luggage 3 times, late at night I was tired, just wanted to go to bed. moved to a junior suite, it was nice, but dirty. Bathroom wall behind the sink very dirty. Bath needed cleaning prior to being used. Carpet edges very dirty. While room very dusty, all work tops, bedside cabinet tops were unable to put any clean items down. Making the overall experience a negative one, did not enjoy the night we stayed. I hope management do look at this room and get back to me. I was unable to speak to anyone upon leaving this morning as I had to get to a meeting.

Exceptional

1 night stay - couple

Liked: Lovely hotel and the room was very comfortable and modern. Staff were very welcoming. A no stress experience.
Disliked: The bedroom itself was clean however the bathroom was not as clean as I would expect. There were lots of hairs left in the bath when we arrived and the toiletry bottles provided were not clean which was a little off putting. Breakfast options were great but some of the food was cold, over cooked or was not being replenished fast enough for the amount of guests.

Pleasant stay

Liked: Nice feel to the hotel. Fairly quiet. Nice decor. Bed very welcoming, but a little too soft for me. Breakfast had plenty of choice, and apart from the black pudding was tasty. Small swimming pool, but again nice.
Disliked: Frustratingly, unlike other hotels I’ve stayed in I had issues getting connected to the WiFi, and was not impressed I had to turn off my virus protection. Using the WiFi was essential as the area seemed to have a phone service black spot. Don’t have to do this else where, so I’m wondering what was different in this Hotel’s set up. The Staff were helpful in trying to solve this issue.
