Beautiful location but sub standard...

Liked: Beautiful building and location. Comfortable room
Disliked: Seems to be focused on wedding events to the detriment of guests at other times. We were virtually ignored by the skeleton staff who had a shockingly poor attitude to customer service at the evening bar (not just us but fellow guests too, we discovered at breakfast)

Disliked: Hot water took 15 minutes to come through. Whole place had a deserted feeling. Had to hunt the grounds for the one member of staff. Still set up for a wedding. Not welcoming for an overnight stay

Relaxing and enjoyable.

Liked: An amazing hotel in a quiet countryside location moments away from Carlisle. The staff were very friendly and you could just please yourself in the hotel and in the grounds. Primarily a wedding venue but when there's nothing on its just wonderful for an overnight stop off from the M6 to or from Scotland.

Good stay

Liked: Interesting old building. Comfy bed and good shower. Cooked breakfast included in price. Very quiet.
Disliked: Would have been good to have some history signs or story in the room.

Our stay at Dalston Hall

Liked: The atmosphere was lovely the staff were very helpful and friendly, I enjoyed the beautiful grounds it was very well maintained. The breakfast was delicious overall, the quality of the hotel and staff was exceptional. I would definitely stay at Dalston Hall again.
Disliked: The only thing that I had a problem with was the two twin beds were pushed together to make a large double, which we both found uncomfortable.
