Crown Hotel

If they could attend to the little things this would be an above excellent hotel. Oh and more butter on tables please.

Liked: Lovely rooms; friendly staff.
Disliked: Poor service in dining room - it was the little things. Had to constantly ask for items missing from table. Ordered coffee for two - got a pot for one; no glasses for orange juice etc.; wrong meal served in the evening; booked a twin room, got a very large double bed.

An excellent hotel in prime...

Liked: The location was excellent and carpark on site. Staff were friendly and efficient. Breakfast very good. The room was clean and comfortable but a little hot The fan was useful.
Disliked: Air conditionimg in the room. No decaf tea bags in the room

Lovely Hotel

Liked: The Crown Hotel is a really lovely old building, ideally based for the town centre. We were in their town house which is a very short walk from the main hotel, still very close to the town centre. The room was gorgeous and very comfortable and the power shower was amazing. The fan in the room was extremely welcome due to the warm weather. The breakfast was lovely. We had drinks and food the night before in their sister establishment next door, the food was amazing and the staff and general manager were lovely. We will definitely stay again.
Disliked: The front door on the town house could probably benefit from a door closer because guests didn't always make sure it was fully closed, however the rooms were securely locked, which was fine. Also, due to the warm weather the little bottle of milk had gone off by morning.

Excellent hotel in the heart...

Liked: Excellent breakfast and lovely garden outside for drinks in at comfortable tables
Disliked: There was no small fridge in our bedroom

Superb

Liked: The staff, the meals, the general overall service - another nice stay - hopefully will return again.
Disliked: Despite loving the room we were given - first floor front room with beautiful bay window, elegantly decorated, fantastic large bed (most comfortable) it was slightly impractical in some ways e.g. the soap dispensers were not near enough to the bath to use comfortably and there was no towel rail which one could reach from the bath. It would have been nice to have a toothbrush holder above either the basin in the lavatory or the basin near the bath. However, don't let these niggles stop you booking that room - just be aware.

Shame about the room

Liked: Stayed before, and as before the food and staff excellent
Disliked: The room we were put in, was apparantly a 'cozy' room, which in effect was a single sized room, with a double bed sqeezed in ! The room was in a seperate building, which was not easily accessed with a locked gate and narrow path encroached with vegetation!

Great inn in a special...

Liked: Superb breakfast. Lovely room. Nice vib around the place.
