Great hotel, needs some modernisation

Disliked: The bathroom was a bit dated and the showers caused a flood on the floor

Excellent location, room was fantastic...

Liked: Room was excellent. Comfy bed. Very clean. Nice quiet location. Staff extremely helpful and welcoming. Breakfast had plenty of choice and was very good quality.
Disliked: Only one minor inconvenience. Not enough milk in the room for the coffee/tea provided, but they did happily supply more at the reception desk.

Liked: Breakfast room is lovely, surrounded by gardens. Food offering is varied and good quality, although the cooked breakfast could have been hotter.
Disliked: From the outside everything looks great, but the inside, especially the bar area, has been murdered by a completely unsympathetic make over. All grey and beige where once there were beams and charm. One piece of modern art has been partly hidden behind a fire door which has been propped open. All a matter of taste and subjective I know - just not my cup of tea. Can't fault the cleanliness and staff are charming.
