Disliked: Smell of cooking in bedroom from Restaurant.No lock on bathroom.Option for English Breakfast not available.

Refurbished but poor breakfast/staff training...

Liked: Excellent location near canal, good car park. Rooms recently refurbished. Hotel warm
Disliked: Inclusive breakfast only continental (not flagged at booking). Very poor continental selection indeed . No cheese or cold meats or fruit. Basically muesli, toast, packeted pastries, orange juice. No marmalade. Everything was cleared away at 09:30 but service was meant to be available until 10:00. They had to get everything out for us. Unfriendly service. Very poor value & misleading “breakfast” advertising. Uninterested staff at breakfast & check out. No “how was your stay”. Would not use again unless breakfast upgraded & staff properly trained. Not recommended

Disliked: Having arrived, I was made to feel like a criminal, they demanded a damage waiver to be paid in case I vandalised the room and would not allow me to check in unless this was paid, shocking, I was a regular visitor to this hotel but won't stay again.

Liked: Breakfast wasn’t included and I thought it was.
Disliked: The room is a seperate block from the actual hotel itself. Security is an issue as the main front door doesn’t close properly and there are smashed windows visible at both ends of the corridor and the fire door left wide open. The room itself was clean and well presented but on closer inspection one of the lights didn’t work as had a faulty switch. No fridge - if advertised as “executive” normally i would expect a fridge. Check in was slow even though no one else there. The TV for some reason really annoyed me as it wasnt tuned in and i couldn’t get it to tune in. The very worst part was that there was no running hot water for the shower in the morning. I reported all this on check out but staff wouldn’t come and check for themselves.
