Lovely building very pleasant staff,...

Liked: Excellent breakfast, well served.
Disliked: The floor boards in room 14 creaked excessively. I appreciate the builing us old. However this is something that needs to be addressed.

Liked: The hotel was most efficiently run. Nothing was too much trouble for the friendly, smiling staff.
Disliked: I asked to change my room as it was gloomy with no outlook and was moved to a nicer room without a problem, even though the hotel was quite full. The bathroom while extremely clean would have benefitted from better shelving, as there was nowhere to put my spongebag. There was a decent wardrobe in the room but no shelves on which to place shirts, underwear etc so these had to remain in my case. I thought the dinner menu could be improved as there was too much reliance on fried food. On my first night I ordered the only fish dish that was not fried on the menu but it wasn't available. However by the second night it was available. I would have liked some fresh fruit on the breakfast buffet and a better selection of breads and a toaster that worked properly. However I appreciate that the hotel charges aren't expensive and they may not have the budget for such items.

Liked: The staff at the crown are so welcoming and kind. They are working hard to restore this lovely old hotel. Its in such a perfect place and has a lovely welcome, thankyou.
