The room smelled of throw up; immediately walking in, the smell hit us and could not go away. The carpet was crunchy on one side of the bed as if throw up sat there and could not come out completely. The bathroom faucet was not secured into the counter and was moving around when turning on and off the water. The shower drain was completely open with no stopper. Overall just really unkept room. The smell was the absolute worst part. If we were staying for more than one night I would have left but it was just a quick trip.

Uncomfortable experience

Disliked: I was inconvenienced by checking in. It took over an hour for them to find my booking. My room wasn't clean. My room had to get changed twice due to AC not working. Due to their construction going on, My stay was very uncomfortable and noisy the entire stay.

Passable

Liked: Location was perfect to see a show at Texas Trust CU Theatre. Lighting/device plug-in options were well placed, though one fixture was missing its cover (renovations). The shower grab bar was good.
Disliked: They didn't tell us they were renovating until the morning of, no discount or refund offer. Pallets and debris everywhere, no space for the promised breakfast. We were told no carpet or landline in the room when we got there, okay could be worse, but then no tub stopper or DND sign either (and we asked front desk), the staff were very loud in the halls, and sometimes the front door didn't work. Our door kept getting knocked on because whoever checked us in didn't do it right, so staff thought our room was empty but we hadn't checked out yet. AC seemed weak also. Bed was much too soft.

Disliked: The floors in the rooms were pretty dirty, probably from where the carpets had been before, but the floors still could've been cleaner. The toilet also wasn't working very well, had to take the lid off to help it fill multiple times during our stay. The room also smelled like smoke really bad even though it was a non-smoking room, which was extremely frustrating as the smell caused my migraines to spike while trying to enjoy time on vacation.

Disliked: Given the hotel indicating that there were renovations needed that would not impact our sleep, they failed to mention that there was no carpeting in the rooms which felt drafty and cold even with the heater, no comforters in any beds only a light blanket that I had to get 3 to keep warm, no hot water in the showers only lukewarm, no toilet paper and needed to go downstairs to get some, no housekeeping to clean the next day which led us to having to request more towels in the hallway. No phone in one room and the phone in another room didn't work. TV's didn't work in 2 of the 3 rooms I booked. Parking got full due to a lot of people staying for the football games so parking was limited and made us park in a lot where you needed to drive over puddles and in between trailers so had to use handicap parking sign of my dad's in order to park at the hotel. Absolutely horrible and not worth the amount I paid.
