Coronado Island Marriott Resort & Spa Guest Reviews

Modern and luxurious, the Coronado Island Marriott Resort & Spa offers a peaceful escape just five miles from San Diego’s buzzing Gaslamp Quarter. Nestled on 16 acres of scenic waterfront, this upscale resort combines resort-style amenities with unbeatable skyline views. With stylish rooms, relaxing pools, and spa vibes, it’s the perfect base for concert-goers who want a mix of energy and serenity.
Located just across the bay from downtown San Diego, this resort puts you close to major concert venues while offering a quieter retreat after the show. The 5-mile distance to the Gaslamp Quarter means you can catch a ride share or water taxi and be at your venue in minutes. After a loud night out, the peaceful island setting and soundproofed, spacious rooms offer a welcome break. The 4:00 PM check-in and 11:00 AM check-out provide flexibility, and the on-site amenities—from the pools to the spa—help you recharge post-show.
Start or end your night at ALBACA, the hotel’s signature restaurant serving fresh coastal cuisine with indoor and outdoor seating that overlooks the skyline. For a more casual vibe, Auga Bar by the pool offers drinks and light bites—perfect for a pre-show snack or nightcap. While there’s no 24/7 room service, the on-site dining options are open late enough for most post-show cravings, and you’re only a short ride from downtown San Diego’s late-night eateries. Breakfast is available, ideal after a late night out.
Though the hotel leans more towards relaxation than partying, you’re just minutes from San Diego’s vibrant downtown nightlife. Head to nearby rooftop bars, lounges, or live music spots for an after-party. Back at the resort, unwind with a craft cocktail while watching the skyline light up—without the downtown chaos.
This resort isn’t the cheapest option, especially for budget travelers. Some guests mention that while the setting is serene, the distance from downtown requires a car or ride share for late-night returns. Also, the vibe is more chill than party—so if you’re looking to keep the concert energy going all night, you might want to stay closer to the Gaslamp Quarter.
Coronado Island Marriott Resort & Spa offers the perfect balance of proximity and peace for concert-goers—close enough to the action, but far enough to truly unwind.

Wonderful resort stay; but be...
Liked: Great location near the Ferry Landing with nice restaurants and shops.
Disliked: The prices were very high, and had to pay $50 to park also. Self parking was quite a walk from the resort.

Great place- worth the cost.
Liked: Pool area, dining, coffee shop.
Disliked: Seemed like there were some minor maintenance items that needed updating (in bathrooms). Things like some rust build up on the ceiling from condensation and hard water build up on the fixtures.

No value for money
Liked: Nice location although the view was on industry
Disliked: Watch out for paying all kinds of crazy extras. Eg parking the car is 47 USD per night. It was also very basic and really no value for money. We really can’t recommend staying here
