Surprise Fee

Liked: Very clean
Disliked: There was an unexpected 75.00 fee for potential damages or whatever,it was not on website or posted anywhere in the Hotel ,front Desk clerk was Snarky ?,spoke to The Manager (Rodney Young) he was very rude didnt want us to stay because we didn't want to pay the unexpected fee about that hidden fee that was not posted anywhere .Stayed anyway was told the fee would be refunded on card within 24hrs if there's no damage or smoking in the room.I really think it should have been posted and Mr Rodney did not apologize

Nice staff - good value

Liked: Friendly staff and helpful, easy parking, really comfortable bed and pillows, good size room
Disliked: Breakfast - I really don´t like plastic cutleries.

It was terrible

Disliked: Room was dirty, missing an electrical outlet cover that almost injured a child,bathroom was dirty,shower had hair in it, breakfast was cold and very limited,overall very noisy all night.

Adequate

Liked: Breakfast was weak and when I mentioned the man who provided it was defensive and made excuses. Also, staff and guests make themselves a smoking area at the front door and front walkway. It makes the entrance awkward and unsightly. Seems like there could be a designated smoking/gathering area at some less used area.

Pleasant

Liked: The Breakfast Buffet was wonderful and very clean. Check in was Easy. Location was wonderful
Disliked: room was out dated and a little dirty. Mattress did not have a protector over it could definitely tell it was old.

Disappointing

Liked: Friendly front desk, convenient location. Bed was comfortable.
Disliked: Biggest complaint was the addition of a $75 incidental fee without any warning. It did come off quickly the day after my checkout but still the reason I booked there was the price and to have under $100 jump to over $170 and worrying when that would go down was a pain. Facility needs upgrading. I stayed the next day in a new Comfort Inn (Amish Country) and the difference of the same furnishings, walls etc really highlighted how run down the Mechanicsburg location is. The numbers for the rooms are literally sliding off the wall and are crooked! Not a great first impression. Not a fresh smelling room and there was an air freshener in the hallway outside the elevator.
