Comfort Inn Beach/Boardwalk Area

Santa Cruz is a fuuuuuun place. The Comfort Inn, where I stayed, is close to the boardwalk so you can easily walk there. I had a great time: The weather was great, the room was nice and the Catalyst, where I saw three really great bands, was a good venue. I had a blast.

Liked: Friendly people; clean rooms; perfect for the night!
Disliked: Hmmm...nothing was bad. The room seemed a little cramped, but I was the only one there, so it was cozy.

Overall, the location was great and the room was decent for the price.

Liked: The room was clean and the beds were very comfortable.

Liked: The pillows and mattress were extremely comfortable. The hotel staff was very friendly. The grounds were well kept. I would definitely stay there again.

For the money I spent...

Liked: The location was nice because it was down the street from the boardwalk.
Disliked: The parking to start office was terrible. If you didn’t get front parking, you had a park in the back of a creepy alleyway. The staff was not friendly. We asked for help with our TV because it wasn’t working the owner/manager. I’m not sure who he was very unpleasant and looked at my mom and I and discuss as he fixed the issue. Also, the breakfast the next morning was in Schaefer, but those Schaefers were cold. No heat to them whatsoever.

Exceptional

Liked: The location was great! Beds were comfortable, rooms were clean, all of the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Disliked: The pool was closed.

Bad

Liked: The close location to the Boradwalk.
Disliked: Our stay at the place was very disappointing and concerning. The parking was extremely tight and closed in, making it difficult to maneuver. when we first arrived, everything appeared to be fine, but after walking just five minutes away to get food, 20 minutes later when we returned, we discovered our room door was opened, even though it was closed securely when we left. Thank God we had taken all our valuables with us. Later that night, as we were preparing for bed, we noticed dried blood on the Bed Linens. Which was both unsettling and unacceptable. The office was closed, leaving us unable to notify any staff until the next morning. No manager was present, the front desk person give us a number to call about our complaint. Leaving us feeling unheard and unsafe. To make matters worse, I discovered after returning to Sacramento upon checking my account that the property had charged me double the price for one night stay. No one have returned my calls on these issues. Our Engagement was ruined.

Pleasant

Disliked: Parking very tight. Breakfast very marginal. Hard to find. Street navigation difficult.

Disappointing

Liked: Close to the board walk
Disliked: Rooms needed to be cleaner, staff needs to take off the fact my room number needed to be displayed on my car parking sucked

Disliked: Parking is tight

Pleasantly surprised

Liked: Good location, quiet at night, comfy beds.
Disliked: Breakfast was basic.

Not the nicest but location...

Liked: The location was very close to the boardwalk
Disliked: The bathroom door wouldn’t fully close. The parking lot didn’t fit the amount every car that was staying there. Booked a double Queen and got a single king unless I wanted to switch rooms for the 2nd night. Towels had stains and the fan didn’t always work.
