Disliked: DO NOT STAY AT THIS COMFORT INN!!! Worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. It started by the overpowering smell of cigarettes the second you walk inside. It got worse after getting onto the elevator and on our floor. My room had an off putting smell when I opened the door. I guess they don’t do much in the way of cleaning the filters in the ac units because as soon as I turned it on, it putout a steady stream of stale cigarette smoke. I had to turn the ac off while I slept so I didn’t have to smell the smoke all night. All I wanted to do was take a nice hot shower when I got there after a long car ride, what I got was practically no water pressure and lukewarm water even though the water was turned all the way hot. The water pressure never got better but at least it was slightly warm the second night. I got the sense that whenever a guest needed to speak to the desk clerks we were putting them out. The first woman seemed to be confused as I brought my dog and ended up charging me twice for incidentals. She also never lifted her head whenever anyone would walk through the lobby, anyone could have walked in. When I asked a different clerk the next day about the third charge on my card she didn’t even look at the computer and just rattled off that it was for incidentals… then at two in the morning on the second night I was charged a FOURTH amount for $169. When I went down to speak to another new clerk, he said he couldn’t find anything in the system as to what that charge was for and that’s when he said the incidentals amount is already included in the base charge and he wasn’t sure what the clerk had done when we were checked in. The incidentals charge fell off, but the $169 is still pending. We ended up checking out a day early because of all this. We’re supposedly being rebated our third night but I’ll believe it when I see it. This place had good reviews on booking.com and that was one of the reasons we picked it, I’m telling you do not stay unless you’re desperate.

It was worth the time...

Liked: We stopped in for an overnight stay. Was able to check in early. Saw a concert at VA Tech. Breakfast was hot and ready. Great breakfast choices. Room had a musty smell. Other than that, itis was clean and ready for use. Staff was friendly and curteous.
Disliked: The smell in the room was a little overpowering. Very musty and feet smelling. The line for the waffles was a little long. Maybe another waffle maker? However, everyone was friendly and patient waiting their turn.
