Lovely looking hotel with great...

Liked: The view, the location and size of the room. In Sumner, the pool and outside garden area would be lovely I imagine.
Disliked: Poor choice of breakfast for gluten free. Yogurt, Frosties and Fruit. Coffee was cold. Plastic plates and cutlery was concerning. Poor housekeeping. We asked for it to be done when needed but the toilet roll and toiletries were not replenished, or the coffee and tea. The 4 poster bed was old and rickety. Had to put a cushion in between the wall and the bed to make sure it didn't fall apart. No kettle in the room but assume this is normal in America. Gaps in the window meant we had to lay towels down to stop the freezing cold draughts. However, the hotel is in the middle of renovations so I am sure that when complete, it will be amazing.

Liked: Inexpensive and in a convenient location. One of the only year places open year round in the area.
Disliked: The breakfast is absolutely bare minimum. When we checked in the room door was unlocked and open. The general feeling here is that - at least on the off season - they are doing the littlest necessary to stay open. I have stayed there before, just needing a cheap place to stay in a convenient location, and it meets those needs. Staff really gives the impression that they would rather be anywhere else and that helping guests is a real inconvenience.

Disliked: We have stayed at Cod Cove Inn many times before and the new owners have remodeled the rooms and they are not what they used to be. I am 5'2" and could not use the mirror over the sink, it was set so high for someone over 6 foot tall. Beds were hard and uncomfortable. Carpet in rooms have been replace by cold cheap laminant flooring,I guess this is easier to clean. Breakfast in morning was either a muffin or cold box cereal not what it use to be. Will not be staying there again.

Disliked: Just couldn't find anyone to accept the key at checkout.

Liked: Location was good for the trip we had.
Disliked: This was offseason and maintenance work was being done.

Quiet, cozy place in a...

Liked: The Inn is cute and conveniently located. The manager of the Inn seemed to be running the whole place by himself, but was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was pretty good, coffee was hot and they had a waffle maker, fresh muffins, and some healthy options as well. We stayed on NYE and everything was clean & quiet.
Disliked: The only con I experienced was the check in / check out process being a little awkward. The manager left a cellphone number at the desk you had to call to try and get him to come to the office. I also never received a summarized bill with the room charges on it, however he was very friendly and helpful once we got ahold of him.
