Clink 261 Hostel

Perfectly acceptable hostel in most...

Liked: Great low-cost option for spending the night in a good central location.
Disliked: Stayed during the recent 33°c heatwave! - No air-con and very poor ventilation (two temporary fans trying their best) in the room. Very bad night with little sleep, even after taking a cold shower before going to bed and placing damp towels over my head and feet...!!

Superb

Liked: Some staff were great and helpful, cleaning and pod rooms were great.
Disliked: Some staff seemed rude to other guests (not to me)

Disappointing

Liked: the staff were nice and the location is convenient
Disliked: no ac in the room so it was very hot (everybody was sweating the whole night). One of the lights in the room couldn't be turned off so it stayed on the whole night. Bathrooms and toilets could have definitely been cleaner - the whole place just needs a renovation

Bit expensive and but conveniently...

Liked: Location is great, close to the main train station. Shops, restaurants, pubs all in walking distance. Staff was very friendly, bathroom and shower were clean.
Disliked: The room was way too small for 10 people. Lockers were available under the bed but people had so much luggage in the room that there was hardly any space to actually walk (and lockers were blocked by them). A couple of beds less and a bit more space would be nice, especially for the price per night.

Liked: In hot weather the room is very hot and smelly would be better if there were windows in rooms or more ventilation but overall was ok
Disliked: no room ventilation

Liked: Being next to Kings Cross station is a huge plus. The kitchen amenities were nice as well.
Disliked: the whole place is outdated. the bathrooms, the shower heads are so weak, the bathrooms are always dirty there is no AC so you are forced to share a tiny fan with 10-12 people, the rooms smell of must and BO. Even the hand dryers in the bathroom are weak. The wifi isnt the best either and would cut out a lot as well. Check in is really late and check out is really early. The kitchen has odd hours and the ladders to climb to the top bunk are shared so there's a chance you might fall

Friendly, Helpful Staff and Comfortable...

Liked: Centrally located, Clink261 is a great hostel with friendly staff and good facilities for your stay in London. A short walk from London Kings Cross station, the hostel is located right next door to a co-op and Costa Coffee, and there are plenty of restaurants or fast-food places nearby to sate you during your stay. Despite the shared facilities, everything was fairly clean, the beds were comfortable, and a fan was supplied during the hot weather for the room, which was really great! The staff were also really helpful and kind and were happy to assist you if anything was wrong. I think this is probably one of the better hostels I have been in in terms of how great the staff were and how comfortable it felt, so I would definitely stay again when in London!
