Clayton Hotel Glasgow City

Good hotel

Liked: Nice welcoming helpful staff, new modern hotel and rooms, good central location, some rooms have lovely view over river Clyde. Windows can be opened for fresh air.
Disliked: Stairs (6 high steps) at entrance of hotel, not ideal with heavy suitcases. Rooms service basic and from 5pm only. Restaurant no open for lunch, just the bar with sandwich selection. No mini fridge in room. Gym is very small with no legwork equipment. No extra blanket at all if needed. The bedroom for 3 adults (1 queen bed + 1 single bed) is very small, hard to pass between beds and desk/tv area, the single bed is very small in width. Bathroom in room for 3 adults with only 1 towel rail, 1 hook only not much to hang 3 towels to dry. Rooms with view over river are very noisy, yoy hear traffic and the trains coming into Central station, even with window closed. Not worth of high price of rooms.

Good, but the food let...

Liked: The room was very nice and clean along with being quiet. The location was nice with a very nice view.
Disliked: I paid for a surprise bottle of Prosecco for my wife and I and was told it would be a surprise only for the front desk to take payment then tell us it’s waiting for us in the room. The breakfast was quite poor and not really worth the cost and if we had to pay separate for breakfast I’d definitely ask for a full refund.

Great Hotel

Liked: A very nice hotel with lovely bar and restaurant. Breakfast was great. The room was very comfortable and clean. Hotel is in a good location.
Disliked: No onsite parking, however there is a paid carpark nearby.
