Clarion Collection Arlington Court Suites Hotel

Not bad, but it could...

Liked: We loved how close we were to the city. We could be at most of the memorials, museums, etc. within 15 minutes, usually 5 to 10 minutes. The suite was roomy (we had the handicapped suite) and it had a nearly complete kitchen (no oven), a king bed, dining and living areas, a desk, and 1 1/2 baths. Whole Foods was just up the road, so we saved quite a bit on food by buying groceries. They offered recycling, so I didn't feel guilty about having to throw those away. The kitchen had a full size fridge and freezer, microwave, dishwasher and two burner stove. The bathroom was roomy and had a walk in shower with a bench.
Disliked: Ok, the kitchen was well equipped but the microwave didn't work and the dishwasher was temperamental. The living room TV didn't work but once we told the front desk, they were quick to send maintenance and the TV was replaced with one that did work. Interestingly, the channels on the living room tv didn't match what was on the bedroom tv. So I couldn't continue watching my program that I started in the living room when I went to bed. Hmmm. There was only one plug in the bedroom, so we needed our extension cord to run both of our CPAP machines. The switch on my lamp on the nightstand was almost impossible to turn off. The internet was spotty and kept quitting. I asked the front desk about it and they handed me a phone number to call with no explanation. And on the last night, we lost power at 11 pm. Not their fault, but they didn't have a generator, so we couldn't sleep until 4 a.m. because our CPAP machines wouldn't run.

Liked: Good location, spacious rooms, decent breakfast. I usually book this hotel when visiting D.C.
Disliked: The internet connectivity - there were random outages with duration from few minutes to hour(s). As I am sure, this hotel is picked by many business travelers who expect to be able to connect back to their respective companies while on the road.
