Great location
Liked: Staff were so lovely and the location is perfect. Lots of parks nearby and can walk down to the river stopping at lots of exciting places. Handy shops nearby for cheap food. We went at a time when it was just over £100 a night. But if you can afford it in peak season (£200) stay here its perfect. 1 adult & 1 child in a double room.
Disliked: Nothing

Good location but not worth...
Liked: Liked the bath and location of the hotel. Room was very warm on first night, then realised the heating was on. Turned it off and second night was a lot better. Shaver socket didn’t work, tv wasn’t good, noisy occupants from above at times. Breakfast was very expensive so we didn’t bother with it. Looked at booking direct with the hotel just before going and could have got it over £100 cheaper with breakfast included. Not happy. Can understand putting a credit card down but putting £20 on it for maybe 2 weeks isn’t right.

Excellent location. Hotel needs refurbishing
Liked: Very dated interiors and lifts broke - expect better for the money paid

I loved it!
Liked: My husband and I stayed for years in a hotel across the road from the Clarendon. My darling husband died from Alzheimer’s in 2023 and I decided my first trip without him would be to London, a city we both loved. I stayed in the Thanet last year, but it was a shadow of its former self. I checked out the Clarendon and it looked good. I stayed this year and enjoyed it immensely. It’s perfect and I live and know the neighbourhood. This will be my hotel when I come to London, which I hope will be once a year.
Disliked: Only the hair dryer failed to meet expectations. It’s the type that usually is affixed to the wal. It had too much air, not enough heat, not good for my hair.

London short break
Liked: We arrived late morning and wanted a drink from the bar. We were told that as we had not checked in, we could not have one. We were advised to go to the sister hotel further down the street, which we did, and purchased our Coca-Cola and ginger beer there. We checked in later that afternoon and found out that the lift was not working and that our room was on the third floor. Fortunately, a member of staff took our bags to the room whilst we took the stairs. The lift was not working for the duration of our stay. Seemingly, they were waiting for a part. The hotel was in a good location. The continental breakfast was good, choice of meats, cheeses, fruits, bread, croissants, juice, yoghurts. The shower was fine, with a supply of shower gel, shampoo, etc.

Good, but not great.
Liked: The hotel is very dated. TV didn’t work and shower was stuck on hot water. Bed was comfortable and staff were very polite and helpful. Nowhere near £185 per night.
