An incredibly disappointing experience at...
Liked: Centrally located
Disliked: The worst of it was that we came back from a day out and my previously neatly organized jewelry box was a mess and a pair of expensive pearl earrings was missing. I had to pester the manager multiple times for a response and they finally just shrugged and said "maybe a member of the cleaning staff accidentally knocked it over while cleaning and the vacuum sucked up your earrings." Besides their completely unprofessional response to a serious incident like lost property, the facilities of the hotel don't warrant the 5 star experience they advertise and charge for. The room was cramped and oddly designed, the wifi was spotty at best if working at all and from our room on a lower floor you could hear the music from a club next door.We had splurged to stay at the Chateau Denmark as part of our honeymoon, and truly wish we had chosen literally any other hotel.

Cool setting in heart of...
Liked: Cool furnishings and very comfortable
Disliked: It’s close to the hectic Tottenham court road area so a lot of tourists but not right by the hotel or Denmark st itself is quieter and less foot traffic

Overall a lovely hotel, however...
Liked: We stayed in the townhouse and the room was lovely. Bed was really comfy. Cocktail bar in the evening is a really nice place to have a couple of cocktails to start the evening, really stylish.
Disliked: If you’re planning to stay in the townhouse over the weekend, be sure to bring earplugs! It’s located directly opposite a nightclub, and from around 11pm to 4am, it gets extremely noisy. We were regularly woken up throughout the night by the sounds of people shouting, singing, throwing up, arguing, and car horns as people blocked the road outside. It’s a real shame because the room itself is lovely and well presented. Unfortunately, we found ourselves looking forward to getting home just to catch up on some proper sleep. If I could suggest anything that the hotel could do it would be to provide ear plus in the room. Might help reduce the negative feedback. The layout is a little disjointed, the reception is in a separate building from the townhouses which is fine however breakfast is served in yet another building further up the road, which also doubles as a cocktail bar. Having breakfast in a cocktail bar felt a bit unusual. That said, if you’re staying midweek or you’re a heavy sleeper, you might have a more peaceful experience.

Luxury price, no luxury service:...
Liked: Just a few advantages you actually get for the price:- Spacious room with an interesting design, separate kitchen group, balcony access, two closets, and decent soundproofing of the balcony door (a relief given how loud the street is).- Location is a strong point: about a 12-minute walk to Trafalgar Square.- The hotel agreed to store our luggage a night before check-in.
Disliked: That’s where the positives end. And for nearly $500 per night plus an additional service fee at checkout, the experience was deeply disappointing and far below expectations.- Privacy ignored: The electronic “do not disturb” setting meant absolutely nothing. While we were packing — with our belongings spread across the room — staff entered anyway and even threw out our bags without permission. They were empty by chance, but that is not the point: they had no right to touch them at all. This is outrageous and unacceptable.- Carelessness: Not only did they invade the room, but they left behind cleaning sprays and dusters in the bathroom — right next to my skincare and hygiene products. Completely unprofessional.- Zero attention to essentials: No restock of complimentary items like coffee, tea, or even toilet paper. Budget four-star hotels manage this automatically, yet here I was apparently expected to beg the front desk for toilet paper. Ridiculous.- Poor maintenance: The TV sound system was broken when we arrived. We had to wait for a technician to fix it — something that should have been checked before our stay.- Hidden charges: At checkout, I was told the “service fee” would be waived because of my complaints. But why was this mysterious fee added in the first place? At $500 per night, is service not already included? Guests should be warned upfront — before paying — that the hotel intends to tack on extra charges for basic services every other normal hotel includes.Summary: For the price, this hotel fails spectacularly. A few superficial comforts cannot make up for serious lapses in professionalism, respect for privacy, and basic hospitality standards.
