Candlewood Suites NYC -Times Square By IHG

Small room and a little pricey but the location is within walking distance of Times Square sights. I would recommend this hotel.

Adequate amenities, but not the...

Liked: The room was adequate although dated, and the kitchenette was very useful. I appreciate the free laundry as well. The location of the hotel was very close to Times Square and convenient train lines, and the area felt safe with many food options and convenience stores around. Staff were also pleasant to deal with and accommodating.
Disliked: While the room was functional with all the promised amenities, there are signs of long-term wear and tear that made the room feel less comfortable than I hoped it would be. The corridor outside the room also smelled of cheese or some kind of stale food odour and it was there the whole time during my stay of about 10 nights so it wasn't just a one-off thing.The real dealbreaker however was that there was a day when all room keycards and elevators stopped working for more than a few hours. While the staff tried their best to help guests as much as possible (and truly, kudos to the staff on the ground who had to manage an incredibly frustrating situation), it's very concerning to encounter an issue as severe as that. I can't imagine the chaos it would cause for people who were leaving or arriving with large luggages or rushing to catch transportation out. As such, I'm not likely to return to this hotel again as it's not the most reliable accommodation.

Liked: This studio apartment is in an amazing location, just a short walk from Times Square and all the action. The apartment itself was clean and comfortable, but what really made the stay exceptional was the top-notch customer service. The host was incredibly responsive and helpful, making sure everything was perfect from check-in to check-out. I highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a great place to stay in Midtown

Great stay for a family.

Liked: Location was excellent, the room was great, having a fridge, a stove and dishwasher made all the difference, specially travelling with a 2-year-old. Having a laundry room for free was so convenient!
Disliked: The first night the keys were not working, so we had to wait for a staff member every time we wanted to get in the rooms (a few times we had to wait too long). Apparently it was something with the network, but the problem was solved.

Liked: Customer service was great and all staff was friendly
Disliked: Our original room had the AC break, so I got switched rooms 11 pm at night. In the new room, the AC was also acting up. They offered to come out and check everything in the new room, but we just opted to ignore it and make the best of the trip because we did not want to move again.
