I was there from Nov 5-8, room 207. It is good if the above issues are in resolved.

Liked: Clean.
Disliked: No phone. Terrible TV cable. Blinds broken; no phone book.

Liked: The location is good, but a somewhat rough neighborhood.
Disliked: I have stayed at this property around 20-30 nights yearly for the past two years due to a medical condition that requires regular clinic visits and procedures at UCSD hospitals. I was advised by Jennifer, at the front desk, that if I called directly, she would provide a better rate than Booking.com. I did, and she did not. I booked through Booking.com as usual and was then notified that I was getting a smaller room than usual. I then received an "online check-in" notice from Mews.com to avoid having to check in when I arrived. Mews (I have not heard of them previously) requested my ID and credit card for incidentals, (of which there really aren't any...unless you trash the room.) I arrived expecting to get my key cards and go to my small room since I'd just driven 5.5 hours and had minor heart surgery first thing in the morning. Unfortunately, Jennifer was there and requested my ID and credit card -again- and I had to go through checking in -again- squabbling about the rate, the room, and who Mews was, who took my private information on the hotel's letterhead, that I'd received no satisfactory answers to. I really hope that Mews doesn't abuse my information, but the interaction with Jennifer completely stressed me out. I asked if my loyal business at this property meant anything to them and was basically told "no." I will NEVER stay here again, and I will tell anyone who is interested to hear this story of my experience there. Oh, and local restaurants overcharge for really mediocre food, so you'll need to travel for a decent meal...
