Excellent!

Liked: We travel from North Wales to Clitheroe to visit family fairly frequently & always choose to stay at the Calf's Head. The Breakfast is always 1st class. The rooms are always clean & comfortable (on this occasion you gave us a free up-grade) and Dinner is always 1st class.

Perfectly adequate - clean and...

Liked: The staff were fantastic - always happy to help and never felt like anything was too small a task to do.
Disliked: The decor is a little dated, and as an example, the cuttlery was showing its age.

Lovely pub/restaurant/hotel in a quaint...

Liked: Lovely pub restaurant/hotel within 5 minutes of Clitheroe. Lovely surroundings as it is within a small village. Staff were lovely and friendly and breakfast was really good. Didnt get to eat dinner there but the menu looked very good and the restaurant was packed which is always a good sign.
Disliked: Room was dated and the bed quite small, despite the room having more than enough room for a bigger bed! Bathroom was again dated but very clean.

Lovely last min booking. Would...

Liked: Beautiful location , bedroom & bathroom was lovely. We had a kettle in room as well as shampoos & shower gels. They well let us check out an hour later as my partner was feeling unwell. The house keeper was so lovely, she turned down our tip and told us to spend it on ourselves. We would definitely come back.
Disliked: A lot of the staff were rude / miserable. Especially in the dining room. Breakfast was disappointing. Overall food service very slow.

Glorious - hotel AND setting

Liked: Location was perfect. Lovely country pub in glorious grounds, in a pretty little village very close to Clitheroe, and we could see Pendle Hill from our room. Delicious food - especially the lamb burger with goat's cheese and caramelised onions! Tea + coffee-making facilities in room and a fan, which was most welcome in the heatwave!
Disliked: The following did NOT spoil our stay, but correcting them could make another guest 'super happy'. Bathroom visible from the road, so blackout curtain had to be used, thus needing electric light on during day, which was a shame.Rubber seal on shower-glass wasn't watertight, hence leakage into floor after every shower.Lovely big sash windows, but a substantial hole in one of the curtains. Mainly delicious food, but the fish pie was rather tasteless, which was a shame.
