Liked: We loved the pool and park for the kids. We liked the fact that it was close to everything we needed.
Disliked: The room had a very chemical based smell when we first arrived. It also could have done with a freshen up as, there was dust on the shelf that held the plates, the cutlery didn't appear clean, there was dirt in the cupboard where the dustpan and broom sat and the toilet roll kept falling on the floor as the toilet roll holder was not functional which was not hygenic. Also the iron didn't work well, additional towels, tea, coffee, sugar, milk and toilet paper were not replenished during our stay. We ended up running out of toilet paper and reception was not open when this happened to get more so we had to buy our own.

Liked: Everyone was very nice and helpful. All my requests /doubts were prontly attended to.
Disliked: The refrigerator in our room wasn't very potent, but for all the rest everything was great!

Family Time & Goodbyes

Liked: Cairns Gateway Resort is in good location just outside of Cairns, Close to shops however gives you the quiet resort lifestyle. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. This is now for second time staying here and this is my hotel of choice. Swimming pool is amazing, and rooms are clean and tidy. Parking is close by to your room and the little convenience store at reception has all the necessity you need. Roughly 30 minutes from the airport and a short drive to esplanade. Highly recommend this resort for families, couples or traveling friends. I had to travel to Cairns to say goodbye to my grandfather. Cairns Gateway Resort were very understanding and accommodating as I also needed an extra room for my mum, and they were able to assist last minute and CGR really came through for my family. We really apricate it. Now we will be staying here again for my grandfather funeral.
Disliked: Have nothing bad to add, this place is amazing and highly recommended it.No bad review to give.
