A lovely place but spoiled...

Liked: The staff were friendly and lovely location it was clean and the breakfast was good
Disliked: It was very hot and there was no air conditioning and no fan in the room and the bed was very very hard so didn’t sleep very well so didn’t stay there for the second night

Liked: Public areas were very nice - to a high standard
Disliked: The room was well below expectations for £200 a night. 1. It was uncomfortably warm. I acknowledge that the weather was exceptionally warm, but at this price I would definitely expect air conditioning2. Bathroom was low standard: small with all plastic panels on the walls, not a ceramic tile in sight. 3. No extractor fan! 4. Bathroom was also poorly maintained: screwcaps missing on the panel under the sink, 3 of the 4 rubber bumpers under the toilet seat were missingBreakfast was decent, although there did not seem to be enough staff to cope with the rush, resulting in there being too many table not available because they still had dirty plates on themThis may seem an exceptionally fussy point, but the strawberry jam available with breakfast was very obviously a low quality product - I would expect much better from what is supposed to be a high quality hotel

Liked: Very helpful reception staff, room wasn't ready but we were able to drop bag off and get on with our day

Never again

Liked: Close to the town centre
Disliked: Very outdated and in dire need of a renovation. The first room we were given looked like a storage room had been turned into a bedroom, very dark, no ventilation and the only windows were on the ceiling. We asked to upgrade and this room was slighter better but still no phone in the room to contact reception, no AC, only 1 working plug socket in the whole room. We were informed this room was recently renovated and it literally smelt of paint. The hotel as a whole had a musty smell to it. Will never be staying here again and wish we’d booked a standard Premier Inn now.
