Burnley West Higher Trapp Hotel

Great stay

Liked: We were in the annex building, our room was lovely and spacious, very clean, parking right outside the door. Cooked breakfast was delicious, not too much. Plenty of choice on the continental buffet. Staff were all friendly and helpful.
Disliked: Couldn't fault anything.

Would go back again

Disappointing

Good

Liked: Location was excellent, beautiful grounds. Breakfast was good, quality ingredients. Venue was ideal - we attended a wedding, outdoor ceremony area, plus plenty of room indoors if the weather changed. Great staff in the bar and restaurant.
Disliked: On arrival, the receptionist was rude, not welcoming and unhelpful. Booked an early check in for 12 noon, did not get access to our room until 1pm which left little time to get ready for the wedding. Venue and furnishings are very tired in some areas.

Really disappointing

Liked: The staff at breakfast were nice.
Disliked: The room was dated, felt unclean and the location of the room was dark and dingey as it was the furthest building away from reception then right round the back to get into the room. The bed felt more of a three quarter double, incredibly uncomfortable so we hardly slept. Breakfast was mediocre, not great value for money on the whole. Would have been better either not staying over for the wedding we attended near by or staying elsewhere like a travel lodge where the value for money is better. Really disappointing considering how much money it cost and on the pictures it looked so much nicer. When we got to the room it felt cold so we plugged the portable heater in, within seconds the whole room was filled with the smell of something burning from the heater.

Disliked: I was placed in a second building away from the main building that wasn’t as nice and was very dated. The doorway was crawling with midgets.

Would visit again.

Disliked: Little bit tired but loved in nonetheless.
