Stay here for Old Salem

Liked: The hotel is in a very interesting building and the rooms are huge. Everything possible is provided for your comfort; fridge, microwave, iron and board, 2 comfy armchairs, toiletries, phone charging points etc.We were given tickets to take to the bar for free beer or wine and cheese and biscuits. We were also invited to have milk and cookies in the lounge in the evening although we didn't partake. The hotel is right next door to Old Salem and downtown so we could walk everywhere. There is an excellent bistro nearby called Willows Bistro where the food is organic, and 'from farm to plate'.
Disliked: The staff on the front desk were a bit diffident. I would like them to have been more friendly.

Overall experience was exceptional.

Liked: Had a problem with our room. They immediately found us another room and helped us move our bags. New room exceeded our expectations. Complementary wine and cheese happy hour and cookies and milk before bed. Breakfast was excellent. Very attractive dining area with extra wait staff which were very attentive and went above and beyond expectations. Would stay again and wished I was staying longer.

Liked: The inn really lived up to the historic billing. They did a great job of giving that individualized attention without losing the amenities that bigger chains offer.

Overall the stay was fine....

Liked: The rooms and area were very quiet and peaceful. Nice relaxing environment.
Disliked: I could hear the guest above us walking around all morning. It was really loud through the ceiling, actually what woke me at 5am

This was my 5th stay...

Liked: The amazing buffet for breakfast plus the wine/cheese and cookies/milk in the evenings; the friendly and very accommodating staff, especially Asron and Zack; the beautiful rooms with exposed brick, comfortable beds, luxurious linens, wonderful shower.
Disliked: The room was sooooo dark. There are not enough lamps and reading in impossible!
