Disappointing

Liked: Location & staff
Disliked: Although we had one of the cheaper rooms for a one night stay only found out that the shower didn't work the morning of check out this was reported & we where then told its normally ok in that room as thats the room the staff use. We where not impressed by that comment from the reception staff .

It was 30 years ago...

Liked: Breakfast was lovely, we both had the full English and it was very good
Disliked: Dinner was very good but maybe some vegetables with the main course would be a welcome addition.

Superb

Liked: The building and its setting. Nice, comfortable bedroom.
Disliked: The lack of a real a la carte menu. The rather limited menu obliged one to choose 2 or 3 courses which were tasty but strongly reminiscent of early nouvelle cuisine in portion size. Fine by us as we eat lightly but over-priced by comparison with other favoured restaurants.
