W e felt very safe...
Liked: Wait!!! If you're looking for a wonderful place to stay... you have arrived!! The hotel facilities were extremely clean with many concierges who were happy to assist at the front desk. Shout out to Jarvis and Anthony who were especially helpful. We felt very safe at this location and there many GREAT places to eat in walking distance. I heartily recommend!!

Nightmare experience
Disliked: The fire alarm went off in our room at 5am for no reason during one of the nights of our stay. The hotel staff dealt with this issue painfully slowly while we stood blinking in our dressing gowns. They took 30 minutes to silence the alarm. This completely disrupted our sleep that night. They never provided an adequate explanation for why it happened, and hence we were never reassured that it couldn't recur. Someone then barged into the room the next morning when we were trying to sleep, in order to "fix the alarm", further disrupting our sleep. When we said we were sleeping so please come back later, the man asked if the alarm was therefore fixed. He also asked me what the issue with the alarm was. This seemed unprofessional to me. Why was this man challenging my request for him to come back later, and also asking me, the guest, what was wrong with the alarm?! How would I know what the issue is... clearly he was trying to do his job but he hadn't been briefed on how we might be feeling as guests. The hotel staff just came across really not joined up in how they dealt with this and not at all focused on guest experience. The hotel staff then seemed to have no desire to make this right. I raised the idea of compensation for our distress and they continually tried to say they couldn't do anything. The first person I spoke to said he couldn't make a decision and had to speak to his manager. The manager offered 50 dollars for inconvenience and said she couldn't do more. When I explained a bit more she upgraded her offer to 100 dollars (relative to a 300 dollar a night room) and again insisted she could do nothing more. It's really disheartening to be faced with this sort of adversarial service. Throughout this whole ordeal, staff seemed surprised that we were distressed or unhappy when I raised the issue with them and seemed unwilling to help. This is really not what you would expect from a 4-star hotel.
