Perfect place to stay awhile

Liked: The staff were friendly and cheerful and the rooms were cozy and clean. Perfect place if you need to stay around inNewcastle or Stoke.
Disliked: Its probably only me that says so, but I would of liked the room to have a microwave and minifridge. Otherwise the room was great, no complaints about what was there.

Overall pleasant stay, friendly staff,...

Liked: Good location. Excellent customer service - receptionist Kerry was brilliant at sorting out our room issues and swapped us on day 2 from room 2 to room 5. Top marks to Kerry, thank you!Zero noise from within the hotel. Good wifi. Clean room and bathroom. Excellent TV channels. VERY spacious rooms and bathrooms! Curtains were thick and provided good black out from the outside lights. Parking was good.Room 5 had an excellent shower - temp and pressure, lots of plug sockets, comfortable bed, all lights working well. Room 2 was very substandard - see below. Would be happy to stay here again but not in room 2. Did not use the restaurant, but the menu downstairs did look appetising and there was a really good variety of food on offer.
Disliked: Initially we got room no. 2. Bathroom door wouldn't stay shut. Shower pressure very poor and water luke warm even on full heat setting. Shower was very difficult to turn off. Bed was uncomfortable with a dip in the middle of the mattress. Only 2 plug sockets and they were no where near the mirror. Could not plug in kettle when watching TV due to positions of the plugs. In both rooms, the bathroom towel rails were on the other side of the very spacious bathroom, so unless you placed towels on the floor (unhygienic) when having a shower, you had to walk 10 feet across a wet floor to get them - not ideal and very slippery. Neither bathrooms had safety grab rails to get out of the shower which made it dangerous too. Room 2 had the glass shower door siliconed in place so you can't move it, meaning you couldn't turn the shower on without getting a blast of cold water on you. Towel rail wasn't wired up. No restaurant menu in the room. Light cord was so high up I almost couldn't reach it. Light above the toilet flickered like a strobe light some times when switched on. There was an anti slip mat in room 2 but not in room 5 - would have been helpful to have this in room 5 as neither bathrooms had safety grab rails. Pictures are of room number 2 showing the poor plug locations, poor placement of towel rail, fixed glass shower door and the high up bathroom light cord.
