The Spotlight on Blue Bells Hotel

Historic Charm Meets Concert Convenience in Notting Hill

Blue Bells Hotel offers a cozy, budget-friendly stay in a beautiful 18th-century Victorian townhouse in the heart of Notting Hill. Just a short walk from Hyde Park and easily connected to the West End via nearby bus routes and the Notting Hill Gate Underground station, it’s a solid home base for music lovers exploring London’s live scene.
Rooms are simple but charming, with tea and coffee facilities, TVs, and free Wi-Fi in public areas. Expect a classic London vibe with a touch of vintage elegance.

Why Concert-goers love it

The location is a major win. With Notting Hill Gate station just five minutes away, you’re only a few Tube stops from London’s top venues like the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire or Royal Albert Hall. After the show, late-night buses and easy Tube access make getting back a breeze. While there’s no 24-hour front desk or elevator, check-in starts from 15:00, giving you time to settle in before heading out.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends wanting a central yet peaceful location
  • Solo travelers ticking off a dream gig
  • Couples making a romantic weekend of music and markets
  • Fans looking for a quieter post-show recovery space
  • Budget-conscious travelers who still want charm and convenience

Food and Drink Options

While there’s no on-site restaurant, the area is packed with options. Portobello Road’s cafés, international eateries, and late-night bites are just a short walk away. If you’re up late after a show, you’ll find pubs and takeaways close by. Breakfast is available to help you ease into the day after a night of music.

Nightlife Options

Notting Hill has a laid-back nightlife scene, with local pubs, wine bars, and occasional live music spots. For more buzz, hop on the Tube to Soho or Camden. While the hotel itself doesn’t host live music, its location makes it easy to dive into the city’s vibrant after-dark offerings.

What People Say

Guests love the hotel’s charming building, quiet street despite the central location, and excellent value for money. The staff is friendly, and the proximity to transport and Portobello Market is a frequent highlight. It’s often described as a “hidden gem” in a lovely London neighborhood.

Areas for Improvement

There’s no elevator, which might be tricky with heavy bags. Some rooms are compact and a bit dated, but most agree the location and price make up for it. Wi-Fi is only available in public areas, so plan your gig research beforehand.

The Bottom Line

Blue Bells Hotel is a charming, affordable base in Notting Hill that puts London’s music venues and nightlife within easy reach—perfect for concert-goers who want character and convenience without breaking the bank.

Lovely central, clean, convenient and...

Liked: We booked this lovely hotel to attend the Olivia Rodrigo concert at Hyde park. I read the reviews and by them, decided that this would be the perfect place for myself and daughters. They had a quad room (1 x double and 1 x sofabed) I was expecting it to mirror the reviews but it honestly exceeded them. The room was ready 2 hours early meaning we could go into our room freshen up and drop our bags off before the concert. The room was lovely and clean. had a nice shower, tea and coffee making facilities, free wifi, hairdryer, keyless entry . What more could you want.It was an extremely hot day and we arrived to find a fan on in our room and the window slightly open, which was a really lovely touch. The breakfast was perfect, lots of options and really nicely laid out.The best part was the staff, so helpful, kind and genuinely looked happy to be there. They offered lots of advice for travel and ways to get around and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. The lady serving breakfast was our favourite she greeted us with a huge smile, had lovely red lipstick on and long dark hair ( i wish i got her name) however she was so lovely and made us feel very welcome. If i come to Hyde park again, or London I wont hesitate to book here again. Also to add although extremely central and only a 9 minute walk from Notting Hill Tube station it was on a very quiet road.Just perfect.
Disliked: The main shower head was maybe on its way out with some rogue sprays of water, however the smaller head was just perfect.

Nice cozy familly stay!

Liked: Perfect location very close to Hyde park, many super good restaurants, and area is full of beautiful plants, trees, flowers. Quite nice breakfast, also liked family room in the first floor ( nr2) with very high ceilings, felt nice! Comfortable bed.
Disliked: Quite old building, so needs some renovation, for example old windows not so easy to open.

Not nice at all

Disliked: Dirty in the room with spiderweb in the windows. The fen wasn’t working and it was very hot in the room. It smelled weird in the room also. In the bathroom the hanger was broken.
