We won’t be back
Liked: The staff were lovely. The tap in the bathroom dripped. The toilet flush was loose. The bath mat was ripped. Breakfast was good. On the Saturday morning we had to sit in the other room as the breakfast room was full. Staff had to keeping going to the kitchen for food as it had run out of everything!
Disliked: The fact as soon as we got there reception said they wanted a card to take £50 for incidentals that may or not occur. I said no as you don’t advertise this and we pay as we go! Just heard from my sister in law who checked out on Sunday. To be told it might take up to 10 days to get her £50 back! 😡Also I was informed because I had booked by booking.com and not by the hotel I would have to pay £10 a visit to the pool and health suite. How rude! On principle I didn’t go because I felt like a second class guest! ABBA night in the bar you were charging £1.50 at that bar more expensive for a drink than the other bar. Really annoyed 😡 It was also remote so 30 mins walk to town or £10 a taxi Not much room in the bar as it was small so people struggling to find a seat. Drinks very expensive.

Liked: The view of the golf course and the history of the building.
Disliked: The location, very little to do, if raining and no games room.Also if booked with booking.com, you are required to pay extra , for the spa.Sitting areas not great if a group.

Almost excellent
Liked: Lovely room. Spacious and clean. Beautiful bathroom. The hotel was smart, the food was very good and there is a wonderful terrace. Some of the staff gave really good service - particularly in the restaurants. Overall excellent value for money.
Disliked: Some of the staff seemed indifferent. Poor service when trying to book spa treatments before the stay. Dinner was included in our overall price, but when ordering we were told that side dishes (e.g. vegetables) were excluded! The 'glasses' of prosecco served barely filled half a glass. These last two things made it feel like we were being nickelled and dimed which slightly took the edge of our relaxing spa weekend. As the hotel is on a golf course there are no grounds to speak of where you can walk around.

Liked: Location
Disliked: Room was just okay. However between reception and room there were seating areas with tables. A number of tables had been used and used glasses were left from when we arrived until late in the evening. Only cleared by the following morning
