Liked: Outstanding value in your genuine old castle and a beautiful setting. All of the staff were lovely, the breakfast was superb (slabs of ham, blocks of cheddar, abundant pastries) and there are relics of its past everywhere, including armour.
Disliked: The rooms are clean and the bathroom was modern with great shower but like all old buildings made out of ancient rock, it can look a bit tired. The rooms in the West Wing were certainly a large but they were still standard hotel boxes with small windows. I’m quibbling here because the whole place is fantastic.
