A beautiful hotel in lovely...

Liked: Most of the staff were lovely and friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The building looks lovely and it's clear a lot of care and attention has been put into maintaining the historical building.
Disliked: We stayed in one of the castle rooms with a beautiful four-poster bed, which was very uncomfortable and noisy every time we moved or turned over. The walls were also very thin, we could hear our neighbours and people in the corridor talking as if they were in the room with us, so I can't recommend this venue for a romantic weekend...The ensuite was lovely but due to the shower tray being raised up the water went all over the bathroom floor and there wasn't a shelf or anything to put toiletries on. We also had an issue at breakfast, we found out the room had only been booked for 1 person in error. The staff were kind enough to let us both have breakfast free of charge but the conversation took place being shouted from one side of the dining room to the other which was embarrassing. We checked in as a couple, there were 2 bath towels in the room and the price we paid seemed to reflect 2 guests.

Liked: Everything was great. The staff were excellent very friendly and attentive. The meals and the room were lovely. Can't fault anything. Would definitely recommend and we will definitely return.
