Best Western Plus Chocolate Lake Hotel

We had mice in the hall by our room. Later in the evening we were just watching TV and more mice came running out by the desk. This made for a difficult sleep. Not what you expect when you are staying a night to relax and avoid stress.

Liked: The staff were friendly.
Disliked: We had mice.

Overall it was a good hotel to stay at and very convenient. It was very close to the mall and restaurants. Also the Halifax Forum.

Liked: It was near all the places we wanted to go.
Disliked: The entrance to our room was from outside. Therefore to go anywhere in the hotel we needed to go outside.

Liked: Close to the city, parking is available, the hotel and rooms are clean.
Disliked: Breakfast buffet is repeated every day.

Liked: Very clean and comfortable, good location for our needs
Disliked: It was a bit cold in our room - the window didn’t completely close and when we turned on the heat pump it was too loud to sleep with. We arrived late and left early so didn’t bother us much - we let the hotel know for the next guests.

Liked: room upgrade overlooking lake , good breakfast and dining room , and location perfect for our stay
Disliked: The only thing that was inconvenient was the bathroom sink , the drain stopper was broke and couldn't drain the sink . the sink was unusable for the first night and Maintenance couldn't fix until the next day . the next night after maintenance repaired , they didn't check their work as it still was not working properly . no compensation , we stayed 2 nights and they advertised $50.00 gift card for 2 nights stay ,which we didn't get or they didn't offer ???

Liked: Breakfast was very good, great selection, friendly staff.
Disliked: Room was right next to the elevator, so was a little noisier than we would have liked.We did not check in until 5:30, but the room did not seem to be ready, we were told they had to do a final inspection of the room to ensure all was ok, probably about a 10 minute wait.
