Liked: Staff was pleasant, room was clean except for a large palmetto bug that we had to try and get out but did not. There was no hot water at all, so I could not shower for 3 days. The beds were very hard and my sister had a really tough time sleeping. Location was good. No one told us prior to stay that we would pay for parking of $30.00 a day. Lot of parking was available as they hotel was not anywhere near full. This was not a standard for Hilton but of coures the hurricane caused issues. No hot water was awful.
Disliked: I could bring my little dog.

Liked: We were regular guests of the previous Best Western Castillo del Sol. It is true, a rennovation was required, very clean now.Location has not changed, therefore still great.Staff is friendly.
Disliked: Booking.com description not valid anymore: parking now $10 per day (it's already an expensive stay!), breakfast is not continental breakfast (see below), no coffee makers in the rooms anymore (see below) etc.Bagel breakfast was horrible! Bagel was the only choice of bread. No hot breakfast anymore, no eggs, waffles or pancakes... - I really do not want such a Bagel breakfast included in the price; overall price, however, needs to be lowered then.No coffee maker in the room anymore, and the coffee in the lobby is lukewarm the whole day. When asked, justified by eco certification. We stayed in a Hampton Inn by Hilton just days before in Key Largo. They were equally eco certified, but did have coffee makers in the rooms - there are options which use much less plastic. However, the Hampton Inn did have a recycling trash bin for breakfast, it had plates and cups for recycling, and it did not have singularly plastic packaged mini-muffins as the Spark....Rennovation of the previous hotel was done, everything very clean now, but very unfortunate changes to the use of space in the rooms have been made. For instance, the new sink is tiny with no room for toiletries without them getting wet.The new Hilton standard with having room service only every other day seems also just a cost cutting measure, hard on the staff - the choice to have the towels not changed every day, had been there before.

Disliked: Rooms are filthy, Staff stole Grandson's hoodie. Elevator was broken climb stairs with a baby and luggage.

Spacious rooms

Liked: Rooms are spacious and have a great view. Lots of restaurants nea by The Plus is the price for being on the beach.
Disliked: Daytona is still very outdated. The hotel needs some landscaping and has lots of areas in need of work. The hotel needs a sign that shows the hotel name with lights. The pool area needs some landscaping as well.
