Clare, Gloucester, visiting De Montfort Hall Leicester Fri, 8 December 2023
The location is excellent for access to both the De Montfort Hall and into city centre on foot. The bed was very comfortable and had great feather (or similar) pillows. The room had everything we needed except one towel, but reception provided us with another upon request. The hotel restaurant offers a reasonable menu and there are plenty of places to eat nearby if you are looking for a less expensive alternative.
Liked: The location; parking and very pleasant staff. Comfortable bed.
Disliked: Our room looked a little tired and in need of a refresh. We only had one set of towels to share between two of us.

What a beautiful hotel; very pleasant staff; lovely room and the bed was so comfortable we didn't want to get up. Will definitely stay there again.

The room was lovely; excellent facilities - slippers, robes, fridge, iron, ironing board and safe. Would definitely stay here again - very nice.
Disliked: Problem with cold water tap on sink.

Exceeded our expectations on 90%...
Liked: For a City centre hotel, it is quiet and well situated and having secure parking was a real bonus. The room was far larger than we anticipated and superbly comfortable. The evening meal was delicious as well.
Disliked: The hot water took ages to come through (it's not a new hotel so to be expected). There was a continuous drone from outside sounding like a vent fan running - it could be irritating to some but we ignored it. The layout takes getting used to as its 'bitty' and at different levels.

Comfortable hotel in great location
Liked: Very comfortable bed, nice to have a proper bathroom separate to the bedroom (better layout than some of the squished ensuites in big brand hotels). Felt homely. Location was great, next to a pedestrian only lane that quickly goes into the middle of Leicester, and parking was easy on site.
Disliked: Decor a little dated, but wasn't an issue.

Whilst the room was adequate...
Liked: The room and bathroom were spacious and clean and easy to access.Reception staff were very polite and helpful
Disliked: The decor in the room was somewhat dated and it was quite crowded with furniture and cushions'The ensuite too was tired looking and need attention. At 7pm the shower failed to provide hot water even though hot water came through the bath tap. There were no directions on the shower and I got very cold waiting for the water to heat up and did try manipulating the controls to acquire hot water. Consequently I was annoyed and cold. I find it extremely difficult to get out of any bath once I am sitting down,

Excellent location in Leicester, good-sized...
Liked: First impressions were very positive - three town houses unified into a single hotel by an attractive veranda. The room was excellent, with a good-sized desk. Perfect location, just on New Walk and a couple of minutes from the museum, but also not far from the railway station, shops and restaurants. There was a good selection available at breakfast.
Disliked: There were a couple of minor annoyances in the bathroom - for example, even with the plug in, the basin loses water at a rapid rate, and the toilet roll holder was in need of a couple of screws. But the main issue was the door-closing mechanism. The doors leading out to the corridor seem to be incapable of closing properly unless you let them close themselves, and they do this by slamming shut. It is difficult to see how one can sleep through the late-night arrivals or early-monring departures of one's neighbours.

A tad pricey but great...
Liked: Great location and nice hotel
Disliked: Water in shower cold for a while. Eventually ran hot but then scorching and difficult to control. Room also very cold on arrival.
